Following its global unveiling in Shanghai, Malaysia became the first international market to unveil the iCAUR 03 electric off-road SUV.
Those who missed the unveiling of the iCAUR 03 at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025 now have another opportunity to get behind the wheel through the iCAUR iEXPERIENCE Off-Road Test Drive at 1 Utama Shopping Centre. The event offers a hands-on look at what this electric SUV is capable of across a custom-built off-road course.
According to Emily Lek, Vice President of iCAUR Malaysia, the launch marks a significant milestone for the brand in the region. “We’re proud to introduce the iCAUR 03 as our first model here. It’s more than just an SUV—it represents our commitment to delivering cutting-edge electric vehicles designed for exploration,” she said.
The iCAUR brand’s “Born to Play” tagline reflects the SUV’s core identity: intelligent, innovative, and interactive, with a genuine off-road spirit. Lek added that the iCAUR 03 combines bold design, dynamic electric performance, and seamless digital integration, proving that electric vehicles can go beyond the tarmac.
Visually, the iCAUR 03 stands out with its futuristic i-BOX design language. Its sharp, angular lines and distinctive lighting signature give it a bold and rugged presence, clearly built for adventure. The muscular body and elevated stance add to its off-road credibility while making a strong style statement on the road.
At the heart of the iCAUR 03 lies the iROAD system, which offers up to 12 selectable terrain modes. This system is supported by a precisely engineered H-arm multilink rear suspension that enhances wheel articulation and off-road stability. Power is delivered via a compact 6-in-1 electric drive module, which combines the Motor Control Unit, Onboard Charger, and Converter into one unit. This allows for smoother and more responsive power delivery, whether on city streets or challenging trails.
Safety is a key focus of the iCAUR 03, thanks to the brand’s revolutionary iCARE safety system. It is the first electric SUV in Malaysia to feature an all-aluminium monocoque chassis and body. With an outstanding torsional rigidity of 31,812 Nm per degree—surpassing many modern sports cars—the vehicle delivers superior crash protection while also reducing weight by 30%.
Enhancing this foundation is an advanced 4-layer IPX8 battery armour system. This system features a 10mm hardened aluminium impact shield, a Mica ceramic thermal barrier capable of withstanding temperatures above 1,000°C, and two additional protective layers, ensuring uncompromised safety and durability in any environment.
Inside, the iCAUR 03 offers a tech-forward experience through its immersive iBRAND cockpit. The cabin features a large 15.6-inch central touchscreen paired with a 9.2-inch digital instrument cluster, all powered by the intuitive i-VA user interface. A premium 12-speaker INFINITY audio system provides a rich audio experience, while a 540° Transparent Chassis camera system ensures full visibility of the vehicle’s surroundings—ideal for off-road maneuvering and urban parking alike.
Buyers can choose between two powertrain configurations. The 2WD variant features a 135kW (184PS) electric motor producing 220Nm of torque and is powered by a 65.7kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery that offers an estimated range of 426km under the NEDC cycle.
For drivers seeking more power and capability, the Intelligent Wheel Drive (iWD) variant adds dual motors producing a combined output of 205kW (279PS) and 385Nm of torque. This version uses a slightly larger 69.8kWh battery, offering a 418km NEDC-rated range along with superior traction and off-road ability.
In terms of driver assistance, the iCAUR 03 is equipped with Level 2.5 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). These include Adaptive Cruise Control, Emergency Lane Assist, and Traffic Jam Assist, providing additional peace of mind whether navigating congested highways or cruising on long-distance journeys.
The iCAUR iEXPERIENCE Off-Road Test Drive at 1 Utama gives drivers a chance to explore the SUV’s full potential across a purpose-built obstacle course. Designed to highlight the model’s off-road strengths, the course includes several challenging elements. One section, known as iSee-Saw, elevates the vehicle onto two wheels to demonstrate chassis rigidity and suspension articulation.
Another, iSlide, features a steep 55% incline and a descent, showcasing torque control and gradeability. The iSplash segment tests the SUV’s ability to wade through 400mm-deep water, while the iBreaker obstacle uses rollers to test how the iWD system directs torque to a single wheel with traction, allowing the vehicle to clear the obstacle with ease.
The public can experience this off-road adventure during the iCAUR Public Roadshow, happening from 20 to 22 June 2025 at the Ground Floor Carpark (Old Wing), 1 Utama Shopping Centre, between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Visitors will also get to explore the iCAUR lineup, interact with the vehicle’s technology, and understand why the iCAUR 03 lives up to its “Born to Play” slogan.
The iCAUR 03 is set to officially launch in Malaysia in the third quarter of 2025, with an estimated price range between RM145,000 and RM155,000. For those eager to be among the first to own this electrifying off-road SUV, bookings can be made at the roadshow with a fully refundable deposit of RM1,000.
