DRB-HICOM Auto Solutions Sdn Bhd (DHAS), a logistics arm under DRB-HICOM Berhad, has strengthened its vehicle transport capabilities with the acquisition of seven MAN TGS 18.360 4×2 prime movers. These new trucks will serve as the backbone of the company’s in-house fleet of car carriers.
Until now, DHAS primarily relied on external transport providers, supplementing with a small number of leased Japanese trucks. The move marks a significant step forward in DHAS’s strategy to scale operations as demand for vehicle logistics rises, particularly with the growing local assembly and import of electric vehicles (EVs).

Established in 2006, DHAS has evolved into a key player in Malaysia’s automotive logistics sector, supporting over 20 automotive brands nationwide. According to Fawzi Ahmad, CEO of DHAS, the decision to invest in the MAN TGS was the result of a comprehensive evaluation process.
“We needed a solution that aligned with our operational requirements and long-term growth plans. The MAN TGS, equipped with Euro V engines, stood out for its specifications, safety features, cost efficiency, aftersales support, and compatibility with our sustainability targets.
It also comes with an integrated, user-friendly telematics system that enhances fleet management,” Fawzi said, adding that the trucks’ comfort and design have been well received by their drivers.

He also acknowledged MAN Truck & Bus (M) Sdn Bhd for their collaboration and efficiency in delivering the trucks promptly, crediting the team for working seamlessly with appointed fabricators and regulatory bodies.
Andrew O’Brooks, Managing Director of MAN Truck & Bus Malaysia, expressed his satisfaction in supporting DHAS during this critical fleet expansion.

“Our mission is to simplify our customers’ operations. As the first brand to offer Euro V heavy-duty trucks as standard in Malaysia, we bring proven expertise in helping fleets reduce emissions, optimise fuel use, and lower overall operating costs. These trucks have been performing reliably under Malaysian conditions since 2021,” said O’Brooks.
Looking ahead, DHAS is eyeing further advancements in sustainable transport. The company has shown interest in the fully electric MAN eTGX, which offers a range of up to 800 kilometres, as it explores greener alternatives to improve cost efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
