Chery Tiggo Cross Now Available in Malaysia From RM88,800

Chery Malaysia has officially introduced the all-new Chery Tiggo Cross subcompact SUV which will be taking on the Perodua Ativa and the Honda WR-V.

As part of Chery’s aggressive growth strategy in Southeast Asia, the Tiggo Cross will be locally assembled (CKD) at the Inokom plant in Kulim, Kedah, allowing the brand to offer competitive pricing and strong aftersales support.

To entice early adopters, Chery Malaysia opened bookings at the Malaysia Autoshow with a RM500 reservation fee, limited to the first 500 units. Deliveries are expected to begin shortly after the official unveiling.

The Tiggo Cross will be available in two variants with prices as mentioned below:

  1. Chery Tiggo Cross 1.5T Turbocharged Petrol (ICE) – RM88,800
  2. Chery Tiggo Cross 1.5L Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) – RM99,800

*Both variants come with 7 years/ 150,000km warranty (Hybrid variant gets additional 8 years warranty for the battery).

The petrol-powered model is equipped with a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, producing 147 PS and 210 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT). With selectable drive modes (Eco, Normal, Sport), it offers an engaging and fuel-efficient drive, rated at 6.3L/100 km. Acceleration from 0–100 km/h is estimated at around 10 seconds.

The HEV variant combines a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine with dual electric motors, delivering a combined system output of 204 PS and 310 Nm. Power is managed by a DHT150 electric CVT, offering refined operation and responsive performance.

With a 1.8 kWh LFP battery mounted under the floor, fuel consumption drops to just 5.4L/100 km, with a theoretical driving range of up to 1,000 km on a full tank. The HEV can sprint from 0–100 km/h in approximately 9 seconds.

Perfectly sized for urban maneuverability without compromising interior space, the Tiggo Cross features the following dimensions:

  • Length: 4,318 mm
  • Width: 1,830 mm
  • Height: 1,665 – 1,670 mm
  • Wheelbase: 2,610 mm

The SUV sports a bold and modern silhouette with distinctive LED headlamps and taillights, dynamic body lines, and a raised stance. Buyers who go for the Hybrid variant get 17-inch wheels while those who purchase the ICE variant get 18-inch alloy wheels.

Despite being positioned as a value-packed SUV, the Tiggo Cross delivers a surprisingly upscale interior. Key cabin highlights include:
