At the launch of the all-new Chery TIGGO CROSS, Chery Malaysia announced a RM50,000 contribution to the National Sports Trust Fund (KWASN), reaffirming its commitment to local sports development.

The company also confirmed that a portion of proceeds from every Chery TIGGO CROSS sold in 2025 will be directed to KWASN, providing sustained support for national athletes and sports programmes.

“Performance isn’t limited to our vehicles. It’s also about supporting people. This initiative reflects our commitment to Malaysian sports,” said Michael Chew, Vice President of Chery Malaysia.

This move follows Chery Malaysia’s earlier gesture in 2024, when it rewarded Malaysian Olympic medallists with new vehicles in recognition of their achievements at the Paris Games.

KWASN is a public trust fund under the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS), aimed at financing sports programmes and international participation. It supports athletes both under national associations and independently, and is overseen by a committee that includes representatives from the Ministry of Finance to ensure transparency.

Chery Malaysia also highlighted its ongoing support for grassroots sports through collaborations with local associations across disciplines including badminton, football, cycling, running, and pickleball.

The TIGGO CROSS, launched on the same day, has received over 1,000 bookings to date. The model is available in two variants — the 1.5L Turbo priced at RM88,800 and the 1.5L Hybrid CSH at RM99,800 (Peninsular Malaysia). Both variants are available for test drives at Chery showrooms nationwide.
