BYD Sime Motors, the official distributor of BYD vehicles in Malaysia, has launched the new BYD ATTO 2, a compact electric SUV aimed at first-time EV buyers and younger drivers. Priced from RM100,000, the ATTO 2 is positioned as the brand’s most accessible EV offering to date.
The model was unveiled at Heritage Valley, Kuala Lumpur, in the presence of key executives from BYD Malaysia and Sime Motors, including Eagle Zhao, Andrew Basham, and Jeffrey Gan.
The ATTO 2 features a 51.13 kWh BYD Blade Battery and a 130 kW motor producing 290 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 7.9 seconds and offers a NEDC-rated range of up to 410 km. Charging options include AC (Type 2, 7 kW) and DC fast charging (CCS2, up to 82 kW).
Interior equipment includes a 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ventilated front seats, synthetic leather upholstery, wireless charging, and a 360° camera. The vehicle also includes six airbags and BYD’s Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
To improve EV ownership accessibility, Sime Motors is also offering the Easy Ownership Package to the first 800 customers, valued up to RM13,500. The package includes:
- RM0 instalment for 6 months with panel bank financing
- Charging solutions:
- Landed property residents receive a complimentary wall charger
- High-rise residents get a 12-month subscription to Power Up’s Sime Platinum 4+ Package, which includes mobile charging, EV rescue services, and car care
- Accessories: Vehicle-to-load (V2L) adapter and Type 2 charging cable
- Warranty:
- 6-year / 150,000 km vehicle warranty
- 8-year / 160,000 km battery warranty
- 8-year / 150,000 km drive unit warranty
The BYD ATTO 2 joins an expanding BYD portfolio in Malaysia, which includes the ATTO 3 Ultra, SEAL, SEALION 7, DOLPHIN, and M6. The ATTO 2 is available in three colours: Ski White, Breeze Green, and Harbour Grey, all paired with an all-black interior.
BYD Sime Motors currently operates 35 retail outlets nationwide, including 26 3S centres. The company plans to expand this network to 60 outlets by 2026.
The ATTO 2 will be available for public viewing and test drives from 25 to 27 July 2025 at Heritage Valley, Kuala Lumpur. The event includes exclusive promotions, entertainment activities, and interactive sessions for visitors. Interested customers can place bookings at the venue or at any BYD outlet nationwide.
