Bentley Kuala Lumpur has discreetly taken the wraps off the new Continental GT V8 a couple of days ago, a year after the Continental GT W12 “big brother” made its way into the Malaysian market.
Powered by a 4.0-litre twin turbo V8 engine producing 550 PS and 770 Nm of torque, the new Continental GT V8 is capable of doing the century sprint in 4.0 seconds flat, and hitting a top speed of 318 km/h. Paired to the engine is an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
Just to put things into perspective, the Continental GT W12 which makes 635 PS and 900 Nm of torque, is able to sprint from zero to 100 0.3 seconds quicker, while clocking a top speed of 333 km/h.
Further complementing the Continental GT V8’s powertrain package are features like the Bentley Drive Dynamics Selector, hollow lightweight roll-bars, a Dynamic Ride System, air suspension, an Active AWD system, and Continuous Damping Control.
Driver Assistance features include Active Lane Assist, Park Assist, and Traffic Jam Assist.
Featuring a more muscular exterior design than before, the new Bentley Continental GT V8 comes with goodies such as 20- to 22-inch alloy wheels, quad exhausts, 7 body colours, LED Matrix cut-crystal headlights, as well as subtle V8 badging.
Customers who want the car to look even sportier can opt for the Blackline Specification where all chrome and shiny bits, trims, and accents are blacked out, except for the Bentley badges and the rear lettering.
Inside, the Continental GT V8 features some high quality leather, sustainably sourced veneers, 20-way adjustable leather seats, a Crown Cut Walnut dashboard, a 650-watt, 10-speaker audio system, and the coolest of them all – the three-sided 12.3-inch touch-screen Bentley Rotating Display.
In case you’re wondering how much it will cost to get your hands on this beauty, prices start at RM795,000 before duties and taxes.
