To commemorate half a century of its iconic five-cylinder engine, Audi has unveiled the exclusive Audi RS 3 Competition Limited—a highly focused, collector-grade evolution of its compact performance icon.
With just 750 units globally, this special edition is more than a cosmetic upgrade; it is a technical and emotional tribute to one of Audi’s most distinctive engineering signatures.

The story of Audi’s five-cylinder engine dates back to 1976, and over the decades, it has become synonymous with character, performance, and a unique acoustic identity. In the RS 3 Competition Limited, that legacy is not only preserved but amplified, both in performance and driving engagement.
Visually, the RS 3 Competition Limited sharpens the already aggressive stance of the standard RS 3. The front fascia is more assertive, with a reworked Singleframe grille seamlessly integrated with the air intakes and accented by a more pronounced front lip.
Carbon fibre plays a central role in the design language, with elements such as front canards, mirror caps, side skirts, rear spoiler, and diffuser trim all finished in matte carbon. These not only enhance the car’s visual drama but also contribute to aerodynamic efficiency.

Further emphasising its exclusivity are 19-inch Neodymium gold matte wheels, which contrast strikingly against the bodywork, while subtle details like heritage-inspired badges and a model designation graphic on the rear side window reinforce its limited-edition status.
Even the lighting signature has been tailored for this model, with a unique animation sequence inspired by the firing order of the five-cylinder engine—a small but meaningful nod to its engineering roots.
At the heart of the RS 3 Competition Limited lies a 2.5-litre turbocharged inline five-cylinder engine producing 400 PS and 500 Nm of torque. This configuration remains unique in its segment, delivering not just strong performance—0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds—but also a distinctive, offbeat soundtrack defined by its 1-2-4-5-3 firing sequence.

Audi has further enhanced the auditory experience through a sports exhaust system with variable flap control, allowing for a broader range of sound characteristics depending on the selected drive mode. Reduced sound insulation ensures that more of the engine’s raw character reaches the cabin, creating a more immersive driving experience.
Where the Competition Limited truly distinguishes itself is in its chassis and handling upgrades. For the first time in an RS 3, Audi introduces a fully adjustable coilover suspension, developed specifically for this model. This system allows drivers to fine-tune compression and rebound across multiple settings, effectively tailoring the car’s behaviour for either maximum grip or improved comfort.

Low-speed compression adjustments influence cornering behaviour and tyre grip, enabling sharper turn-in and higher lateral stability. High-speed compression tuning, on the other hand, determines how the car reacts to sudden impacts such as bumps or aggressive steering inputs. Rebound settings further refine how the suspension settles after compression, offering a wide spectrum between precision handling and ride comfort.
Complementing this is a stiffer rear stabiliser and increased spring rates, which improve rear-end stability and enhance agility, particularly when accelerating out of corners. The integration of Audi’s torque splitter—capable of fully variable torque distribution across the rear axle—alongside brake torque vectoring ensures that the car remains composed and responsive even at the limits of grip.

Aerodynamic enhancements also play a functional role. The redesigned front elements and a bespoke roof spoiler reduce lift across both axles, improving high-speed stability. Meanwhile, standard ceramic brakes provide consistent stopping power with reduced weight and improved resistance to heat-induced fade.
Inside, the RS 3 Competition Limited continues its theme of exclusivity with a distinctive colour palette combining black, Neodymium gold, and Ginger white accents. RS bucket seats with Dinamica microfiber upholstery offer both visual flair and strong lateral support, while matte carbon seatbacks reinforce the car’s performance intent.

Unique touches such as illuminated door projections, model-specific branding across the cabin, and an individually numbered plaque in the centre console highlight the car’s limited production status. Even rear passengers are treated to premium materials and detailing that mirror the front cabin’s design.
The driver-focused cockpit integrates a 10.1-inch central display and Audi’s virtual cockpit system, both enhanced with RS-specific performance data. Drivers can monitor parameters such as torque output, G-forces, lap times, and component temperatures in real time. A motorsport-inspired launch control interface further underscores the car’s track-ready capabilities.

In essence, the Audi RS 3 Competition Limited is not just a celebration of heritage—it is a concentrated expression of what makes Audi Sport unique. By combining a charismatic powertrain with highly adjustable dynamics and distinctive design elements, it delivers a driving experience that is as engaging as it is exclusive.
