The new 500SR sports bike gets a 500cc four-cylinder engine, quickshifter, adjustable suspension and a comprehensive suite of rider assistance features.
CFMOTO has officially launched the 500SR in Malaysia, with the new four-cylinder sports motorcycle making its debut alongside the PETRONAS Grand Prix of Malaysia 2026 at Sepang International Circuit last weekend.
Priced at RM29,988, the CFMOTO 500SR is available through authorised CFMOTO Malaysia dealers in two colour options: Galaxy Gray and Nebula White.
The launch also coincided with a special Rider Meet & Greet session on 31 October, featuring Daniel Holgado (#96), David Alonso (#80), Maximo Quiles (#28) and Marco Morelli (#97).
500cc Inline-Four Engine Produces Up to 82hp
At the heart of the CFMOTO 500SR is a 500cc, inline-four-cylinder, four-stroke, liquid-cooled DOHC engine producing approximately 78hp at 12,500rpm. With the RAM AIR system activated, maximum output increases to approximately 82hp.
The engine delivers 49Nm of torque at 10,000rpm and is paired with a BOSCH electronic fuel injection system for responsive power delivery.
CFMOTO has also incorporated several performance-oriented engine technologies, including an all-aluminium cylinder, forged pistons and crankshaft, fracture-split connecting rods and a BorgWarner timing system.
A high-speed RAM AIR intake system further supports the engine’s performance at higher speeds.
The powertrain is paired with a wet multi-plate clutch featuring slipper clutch functionality, while an upshift quickshifter is included for faster gear changes.
Sporty Styling and Adjustable Suspension
The CFMOTO 500SR adopts an aggressive sports bike design, featuring full fairing bodywork, sharp styling lines, a compact aerodynamic tail section and a high-mounted exhaust with angular detailing.
Underneath, the motorcycle is built around a 20 CrMo steel tubular frame. Suspension duties are handled by 41mm upside-down (USD) front forks, offering 30 levels of preload adjustment and 16 levels of rebound adjustment.
At the rear, a multi-link shock absorber also features adjustable preload and rebound settings. Suspension travel is rated at 120mm at the front and 130mm at the rear.
The motorcycle rides on aluminium alloy rims fitted with CST S3N tyres measuring 120/70 R17 at the front and 160/60 R17 at the rear.
Braking is handled by dual 300mm front discs paired with NISSIN opposed four-piston calipers, while the rear gets a 220mm single disc with a floating caliper.
Rider Safety and Technology Features
The CFMOTO 500SR comes equipped with a range of electronic rider aids, including dual-channel ABS with Supermoto mode and a traction control system (TCS) offering two adjustment levels, alongside an off function.
It also gets a 24-click adjustable steering damper and an Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) system. On the technology front, the motorcycle features a 6.2-inch colour TFT display with MotoPlay functionality, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and USB Type-A and Type-C charging ports with an 18W output.
LED lighting is used throughout, covering the headlight, taillight and turn signals. Heated grips with five-level adjustment are also included.
CFMOTO 500SR Malaysia Specifications
The CFMOTO 500SR measures 2,030mm in length, 705mm in width and 1,185mm in height, with a wheelbase of 1,395mm.
Its seat height is offered at either 790mm or 795mm, while the fuel tank has a capacity of 15.5 litres. The motorcycle has a curb weight of 192kg and complies with Euro 5+ emission standards.
For Malaysian buyers, every purchase comes with a two-year comprehensive warranty or up to 20,000km, whichever comes first.
If the motorcycle exceeds 20,000km within the two-year period, engine components will continue to receive unlimited-mileage warranty coverage for the remainder of the warranty duration.
