Honda Malaysia recently launched the refreshed Honda City, with prices starting from RM89,900 and a stronger focus on safety, connectivity and everyday convenience.
The updated B-segment sedan is offered in four variants – E, V, Petrol RS and e RS – with the range topping out at RM111,900 for the hybrid-powered e RS.
One of the biggest changes is the addition of a Blind Spot Information System with Cross Traffic Monitoring as standard across all variants, alongside Honda SENSING and Honda LaneWatch.
The Petrol RS and e RS also gain a new 360-degree Multi-View Camera System, while all variants receive a larger 10-inch Display Audio system.

The refreshed City gets a revised exterior designed to give the sedan a sportier appearance. RS variants are distinguished by new Long Light Bar Headlights, while all variants receive new Bi-LED headlights as standard. A redesigned front grille and new 16-inch dual-tone milling alloy wheels complete the exterior changes.
A new Blazing Red Pearl joins the color range, alongside Platinum White Pearl, Meteoroid Gray Metallic and Stellar Diamond Pearl, with the latter available only on petrol variants.
Bigger screen, more cabin features
Inside, the most obvious technology upgrade is the new 10-inch Display Audio, replacing the previous smaller unit and providing a larger interface for connectivity and entertainment.
The e RS additionally gets a wireless charger, while new ambient lighting, footwell illumination and door-pocket lighting give the cabin a more contemporary feel.
Despite the updates, Honda has retained the City’s focus on practicality, with its spacious cabin and boot designed to accommodate everything from daily work and shopping needs to sports equipment and luggage.
Petrol and hybrid powertrains remain
The New City continues to offer both conventional petrol and hybrid powertrains. The petrol variants use Honda’s 1.5-litre DOHC i-VTEC engine paired with a CVT, producing 121 PS and 145 Nm. honda city
The range-topping City e RS uses Honda’s e hybrid system and delivers up to 253 Nm of maximum torque, with the system managing its petrol engine and electric motors according to driving conditions.
Honda Malaysia continues to back the hybrid system with a 10-year unlimited-mileage hybrid battery warranty.
More safety tech across the range
Safety is one of the major areas of improvement for the facelift. Honda SENSING remains standard across all four variants, while the new Blind Spot Information System with Cross Traffic Monitoring is now also standard.
The system combines Blind Spot Detection and Lane Change Assist to warn the driver of vehicles approaching from adjacent lanes. Cross Traffic Monitoring helps detect approaching vehicles when reversing out of parking spaces. Honda LaneWatch is also standard across the range.
For the Petrol RS and e RS, the new 360-degree Multi-View Camera provides a wider view around the vehicle, particularly useful when parking or maneuvering in tight spaces.
536,000 units sold in Malaysia
The latest City arrives after more than two decades on the Malaysian market, with Honda Malaysia having sold more than 536,000 units since the model was introduced locally.
The City has also been an important part of Honda Malaysia’s hybrid push, with the City hybrid accounting for approximately 22% of the company’s total hybrid sales.
To mark 24 years of the City in Malaysia, Honda Malaysia is offering a Special City Reward Program for the first 2,400 eligible customers, covering new and existing Honda customers, upgraders and government servants.
Honda Malaysia has also introduced an extended warranty of up to eight years with unlimited mileage for newly purchased Honda petrol and hybrid models, including the New City, effective from 1 September 2026.
With the latest update, Honda has kept the City’s familiar petrol and hybrid powertrain choices while adding more safety, visibility and connectivity technology across the range, with the entry model remaining below the RM90,000 mark.
