Perodua has expanded its international footprint with the export of its latest SUV, the Perodua Traz, and its popular Alza MPV to Sri Lanka.

The Traz is being introduced in Sri Lanka at a special introductory price of Rs.19.2 million (approximately RM233,957) without a body kit, while the version with a body kit is priced at Rs.19.95 million (approximately RM243,090).

The Perodua Alza is also priced at Rs.19.95 million (approximately RM243,090) in Sri Lanka. All prices include VAT, with the special introductory Traz pricing available to the first 50 customers.

The latest exports strengthen Perodua’s presence in one of its longest-running overseas markets. According to Perodua President and CEO Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad, more than 20,000 Perodua vehicles have been sold in Sri Lanka since 1997.

Perodua currently exports its Completely Built-Up (CBU) models to six countries – Brunei, Fiji, Mauritius, Bangladesh, Papua New Guinea and Sri Lanka. The company is also expanding its international pre-owned vehicle business, with Timor-Leste added as a market this year.

The Sri Lankan launch is being carried out with United Motors Lanka PLC, which said it has sold close to 3,000 vehicles since Sri Lanka lifted vehicle import restrictions in 2025.

United Motors Lanka Group CEO and Executive Director Chanaka Yatawara said the combination of Perodua’s manufacturing capabilities and United Motors’ sales and service network would help strengthen the brand’s position in Sri Lanka.

Launched in Malaysia in December 2025, the Perodua Traz is positioned as the brand’s most user-friendly model yet, built around the “Engineered Simplicity” philosophy and developed around the preferences and needs of Malaysian drivers.

The second-generation Perodua Alza, meanwhile, was launched in Malaysia in 2022 and continues to be one of Perodua’s strongest sellers. The Alza recorded 19,504 registrations in Malaysia between January and June 2026, according to the Malaysia Automotive Association (MAA).

The latest export programme forms part of Perodua’s broader strategy to expand its international business while continuing to strengthen its position in the Malaysian market.
