Sime Darby Auto ConneXion-Ford has expanded the Ford Ranger range in Malaysia with the introduction of three new variants – the Ranger Platinum, Ranger Sport and Ranger XL – while announcing that more than 24,000 Next-Generation Rangers have been delivered locally since the model’s debut in 2022.
The expanded line-up caters to a wider range of buyers, from commercial users and fleet operators to lifestyle-focused customers and those seeking a more premium pickup experience.

Three New Variants
The new Ranger family comprises:
- Ford Ranger XL – RM127,888
- Ford Ranger Sport 2.0L – RM145,888
- Ford Ranger Sport 3.0L – RM159,888
- Ford Ranger Platinum – RM205,888
All variants retain the Ranger’s core strengths, including a payload capacity of up to 1,000 kg, towing capability of up to 3,500 kg, and a water-wading depth of up to 800 mm.

Depending on the variant, buyers also get features such as a 12-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone automatic climate control, multiple USB charging ports, selectable drive modes, and Ford’s suite of driver assistance technologies.
Ranger Platinum Heads the Range
Sitting at the top of the lineup, the Ranger Platinum is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 turbo diesel engine producing 250 PS and 600 Nm, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Exclusive exterior touches include a unique Platinum grille, 20-inch alloy wheels, Flexible Rack System, and an Acacia Green paint option.
Inside, it features quilted leather-accented seats with heating and ventilation for both front occupants, Platinum-specific trim, and an eight-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system.
Ranger Sport Offers Two Engine Choices
The Ranger Sport is available with either a 2.0-litre turbo diesel or the same 3.0-litre V6 turbo diesel found in the Platinum.

Exterior highlights include black styling accents and 18-inch alloy wheels, while the cabin gets two-tone upholstery and a digital instrument cluster.
The 3.0-litre variant comes with a full-time four-wheel drive system, while the 2.0-litre model uses a part-time setup.
Ranger XL Targets Commercial Buyers
Positioned as the entry point into the Ranger lineup, the Ranger XL focuses on durability and practicality.

Designed primarily for businesses and fleet operators, it features a functional cargo bed, rugged styling, six airbags and essential safety technologies to support daily work duties.
New Parts Hub for East Malaysia
Alongside the new Ranger variants, Ford Malaysia also announced a new Parts Hub in Kota Kinabalu, complementing its existing central warehouse in Shah Alam.

The facility, which begins phased operations on 27 July, will stock around 1,000 fast-moving genuine Ford and Motorcraft parts, helping reduce parts delivery times for authorised dealers across Sabah and Sarawak.
Ford says selected parts will be available for same-day delivery within Kota Kinabalu, improving repair turnaround times and aftersales support for East Malaysian customers.
Early Bird Promo
To mark the launch, customers who purchase the Ranger XL or Ranger Sport 2.0L by 31 August 2026 will receive a complimentary Ford HD1080p dashcam, while buyers of the Ranger Sport 3.0L and Ranger Platinum will receive a complimentary two-year Basic Extended Service Plan.

Auto ConneXion-Ford also announced that the inaugural Ford Nation community event will be held on 1 August 2026 at Heritage Valley, Kuala Lumpur, bringing together Ford owners and enthusiasts through vehicle showcases and community activities.
