Hyundai Motor Malaysia (HMY) has expanded its local lineup with the preview of the all-new Hyundai Stargazer at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2026, while simultaneously opening bookings for the stylish family-focused MPV with estimated prices starting from RM99,000.
Positioned as Hyundai’s latest entrant into the highly competitive MPV segment, the Stargazer has been developed with modern Malaysian families in mind, combining practicality, advanced safety technologies, and a distinctive design that sets it apart from traditional people movers.
According to Hyundai Motor Malaysia Managing Director Jahabarnisa Haja Mohideen, the Stargazer is designed around Hyundai’s “WEhicle” philosophy, placing emphasis on the people inside the vehicle and the shared experiences it enables.
Visually, the Stargazer adopts a futuristic and aerodynamic profile, highlighted by Hyundai’s signature full-width rear LED light bar. For buyers seeking a more adventurous look, Hyundai is also introducing the Stargazer X, an SUV-inspired variant featuring sportier bumpers, roof rails, overfenders, a rear spoiler, and blacked-out exterior accents.
Inside, the three-row cabin prioritises comfort and versatility. Depending on variant, buyers can choose between seven-seat and six-seat layouts, with the latter offering second-row captain seats.
Premium touches include a 10.25-inch infotainment display, wireless smartphone charging, seat-back tables, automatic climate control, and a floating centre console with clever storage solutions.
Powering the Stargazer range is a naturally aspirated 1.5-litre Smartstream four-cylinder petrol engine producing 115 PS and 143.8 Nm of torque. Drive is sent to the front wheels through Hyundai’s Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT), promising smooth and efficient everyday performance.
One of the Stargazer’s biggest selling points is its comprehensive safety package. Prime and X variants are equipped with Hyundai SmartSense, offering features such as Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Following Assist, Lane Keep Assist, Driver Attention Warning, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, Safe Exit Assist, High Beam Assist, and Smart Cruise Control.
Hyundai is also raising the bar in the segment by backing the Stargazer with an impressive eight-year or 160,000 km warranty package.
The new Hyundai Stargazer will be offered in three variants:
• Stargazer Style 7-Seater – estimated from RM99,000
• Stargazer Prime 7-Seater – estimated from RM109,000
• Stargazer X 6-Seater – estimated from RM121,000
That being said, visitors to KLIMS 2026 at MITEC can get an early look at the Stargazer until the 21st of June and even test drive the MPV before its official showroom launch.
