Honda Malaysia Closes 2025 on a High, Hybrids Power Growth as Brand Loyalty Stays Firm

Honda Malaysia wrapped up 2025 with 72,301 units delivered, securing an 8.8% market share and extending its long-standing dominance as the country’s top non-national passenger vehicle brand for the 12th straight year.

The result underscores how a well-spread model line-up and rising acceptance of electrified powertrains continue to anchor the company’s performance in an increasingly competitive landscape.

Rather than relying on a single volume driver, demand was evenly distributed across core nameplates. The HR-V led the charge with a 25% contribution, followed closely by the City at 24%, while the CR-V accounted for 15%.

This balanced mix across B- and C-segment sedans and SUVs has allowed Honda to maintain consistent momentum despite shifting buyer preferences.

Electrification is becoming a more meaningful part of the story. The brand’s e:HEV variants are seeing particularly strong traction, with the hybrid versions of the HR-V and CR-V each making up more than 30% of total hybrid sales.

The figures highlight how Honda’s long-running hybrid strategy — now over two decades in the making — is moving from a niche offering into a mainstream choice for Malaysian buyers looking for efficiency without sacrificing everyday usability.

The company also used 2025 to strengthen its emotional connection with customers, marking its 25th year in Malaysia with the “Because of You” appreciation campaign. Beyond the celebratory messaging, the initiative reinforced the depth of the installed customer base and the role loyalty continues to play in sustaining showroom traffic.

The final prize winners, who drove home a City and an HR-V, served as real-world examples of how repeat buyers and first-time adopters — including those transitioning to electrified models such as the e:N1 — are shaping Honda’s evolving demographic.

Taken as a whole, the year’s performance reflects more than just sales volume. It points to a brand that is successfully navigating the transition towards practical electrification while retaining its traditional strengths in reliability, resale value and everyday drivability.

With a proven hybrid roadmap and sustained demand for its bread-and-butter models, Honda Malaysia enters its next growth phase with a stable foundation and clear product direction.
