TQ WULING has officially begun local assembly (CKD) of the Bingo EV in Malaysia, marking a key step in the brand’s long-term plans for the local automotive market and the country’s expanding electric vehicle (EV) landscape.
The Bingo EV is assembled at Tan Chong Group’s Segambut manufacturing facility, a plant with established automotive production credentials and internationally recognised standards, including ISO certifications.
The collaboration combines SAIC-GM-Wuling’s (SGMW) global EV expertise with Tan Chong’s local manufacturing experience to deliver vehicles that meet international quality benchmarks while being tailored for Malaysian customers.
Initial production will follow a phased ramp-up strategy, allowing output to be scaled in line with market demand and EV adoption growth. This approach is intended to maintain consistent quality, stable supply and operational efficiency as local assembly progresses.
Notably, the Bingo EV is the first electric vehicle to be locally assembled at the Tan Chong Assembly Plant. It is positioned as an affordable entry point into EV ownership, while placing a strong emphasis on safety. The model is the first in its segment to offer six airbags and incorporates 1,500 MPa ultra-high-tensile steel in its body structure to improve rigidity and impact absorption.
The Bingo EV is offered in two variants: the Bingo PRO at RM67,800 and the Bingo MAX at RM72,800. As part of the launch promotion, TQ WULING is offering Bingo’s Fabulous 5 Perks, including a RM5,000 cash rebate. This reduces on-the-road prices to RM62,800 for the Bingo PRO and RM67,800 for the Bingo MAX.
The first 500 customers will receive benefits worth up to RM12,000, comprising the RM5,000 rebate, comprehensive battery and drive motor warranties, monthly instalments from RM625, a complimentary 7kW home charger, a portable 3-pin charger, TQ premium solar tinting and 17 insurance benefits with dedicated EV coverage. Bookings are open with a RM50 fee via tqwuling.my, at authorised showrooms or during TQ WULING roadshows.
Local assembly brings several advantages to the Malaysian market, including improved affordability, shorter delivery times, stronger localisation for local driving conditions, and consistent build quality supported by local aftersales infrastructure. The initiative also aligns with the Government’s EV adoption and industrial development goals by supporting local supply chains and skills development.

Designed for urban use, the Bingo EV combines compact dimensions with practical packaging. The Bingo PRO delivers up to 333 km (CLTC) of range, while the Bingo MAX offers up to 410 km (CLTC). Interior highlights include a retro-inspired design, 15 storage compartments, a boot capacity of up to 1,240 litres with the rear seats folded, and a “floating-island” dashboard layout with dual 10.25-inch displays for instrumentation and infotainment.
Exterior colour options include Milky White, Neon Blue and Lavender Purple, all paired with a contrasting black roof.
Powering the Bingo EV is Wuling’s proprietary MAGIC EV battery, developed with a strong focus on safety. The battery system features reinforced construction, advanced thermal management and comprehensive electrical protection, and has undergone extensive testing under extreme conditions such as impact, fire, water immersion and thermal stress. Across more than three million Wuling EVs sold globally, the MAGIC Battery has recorded zero fire or explosion incidents. It is also IP68-rated for dust and water resistance.
The Bingo EV is backed by an 8-year/120,000 km EV battery warranty, an 8-year/160,000 km drive motor warranty and a 5-year/150,000 km vehicle warranty (whichever comes first). Customer support is provided through six TQ WULING showrooms across Peninsular Malaysia and seven aftersales centres under TCMH’s service network, with more outlets planned in the coming months.
