Limited to just 150 units available until 31 March 2026, the BMW 218i Gran Coupé Sport now comes standard with the BMW Iconic Glow illuminated kidney grille, adding a distinctive visual signature to BMW’s compact four-door coupé.
BMW Malaysia introduced the latest generation of the BMW 218i Gran Coupé Sport in June 2025, marking a significant evolution of the model first launched in 2020. Positioned to elevate expectations in the premium compact segment, the refreshed Gran Coupé features a sharper exterior design, a fully digitalised cabin, and comprehensive updates to its powertrain and chassis.

Priced at RM241,500, the new 218i Gran Coupé Sport is aimed at younger, tech-savvy buyers seeking a balance of performance, style, and everyday usability. The model retains its sleek coupé proportions while incorporating substantial mechanical and technological enhancements to deliver a more engaging driving experience.
At the front, the redesigned kidney grille adopts vertically and diagonally arranged slats and is paired with Adaptive LED headlights featuring vertical daytime running lights, cornering functionality, and anti-glare high beam. The front bumper integrates vertically oriented air intakes and a split lower intake inspired by BMW M design cues, giving the car a more aggressive stance.

Along the sides, the flowing roofline and updated Hofmeister kink — now embossed with a “2” — reinforce BMW’s design identity. The rear is finished with vertically styled LED tail lamps and a reshaped diffuser for a wider, more planted appearance.
Visual highlights include 18-inch bicolour alloy wheels, high-gloss black mirror caps, and Satin Aluminium exterior trim, completing the Gran Coupé’s sporty exterior package.

Inside, the cabin is centred around BMW’s new Curved Display, which combines a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster with a 10.7-inch central touchscreen. Running BMW Operating System 9 with QuickSelect, the system enables fast access to key functions via touch or voice commands. Ambient lighting, illuminated aluminium trim with diagonal patterns, and a three-spoke sport steering wheel enhance the modern, driver-focused layout.
The seats are upholstered in Veganza perforated material, offering a premium look with improved sustainability. A redesigned centre console introduces wireless charging, updated cupholders, and increased storage space. Rear passengers benefit from matching upholstery and a practical 430-litre boot, maintaining everyday usability.

Power comes from a new 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine operating on the Miller cycle for improved efficiency. The engine produces 156 hp and 230 Nm of torque, enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint in 8.6 seconds and a top speed of 230 km/h. Drive is sent to the front wheels via a seven-speed Steptronic dual-clutch transmission.
The chassis has been comprehensively revised, featuring MacPherson struts at the front and a three-link rear axle with optimised geometry and stabilisers. BMW’s ARB (actuator-related wheel slip limitation) technology further enhances traction and stability, particularly during cornering and low-grip conditions.

Standard safety equipment includes the Driving Assistant package with Lane Change Warning, Speed Limit Information, Rear Cross Traffic Alert with braking intervention, and Exit Warning. Additional systems include Predictive Forward Collision Warning, Reverse Emergency Braking, and Parking Assistant with Reversing Assistant and Rear View Camera.
Digitally, the BMW Live Cockpit Plus delivers a widget-based interface, improved voice interaction via BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, and over-the-air updates through BMW Remote Software Upgrade. Optional BMW Digital Premium adds video streaming and music services, while BMW Digital Key Plus allows compatible smartphones to function as a secure vehicle key.

The BMW 218i Gran Coupé Sport is available in Alpine White, Black Sapphire, and Cape York Green, paired exclusively with Black Veganza perforated upholstery.
