EP Blueshark Sdn Bhd (a subsidiary of EP Manufacturing Berhad, or EPMB) and Blueshark Malaysia Sdn Bhd have officially commenced local assembly of the SoloEra Solo 1C electric motorcycle at EPMB’s state-of-the-art production plant in Glenmarie.
The move marks a significant step in supporting Malaysia’s National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) and long-term net-zero goals, combining EPMB’s manufacturing know-how with Blueshark’s electromobility expertise to accelerate the adoption of sustainable mobility solutions nationwide.
The Glenmarie facility currently has the capacity to produce up to 12,000 electric motorcycles per year, with assembly of higher-performance Solo 2 and Solo 3 models already underway. This expansion strengthens Malaysia’s positioning as a potential hub for two-wheeled electric vehicle (2WEV) manufacturing in ASEAN.
To celebrate the milestone, EPMB hosted a factory visit attended by representatives from the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), Malaysia Automotive Robotics & IoT Institute (MARii), Malaysian Industrial Development Finance Berhad (MIDF), PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad (PDB), and Blueshark. MITI’s Deputy Secretary General (Industry), YBhg. Datuk Hanafi Sakri, officiated the event.
Datuk Hanafi lauded the achievement, noting that the mass production of locally built EV motorcycles will play a pivotal role in achieving the NETR and Malaysia’s electrification targets. MARii CEO, Azrul Reza Aziz, added that the Solo 1C reflects how national incentives such as the MARiiCas rebate programme can lower ownership costs and encourage mainstream EV adoption.

EPMB Executive Director, Aidan Hamidon, expressed pride in the production milestone, highlighting the company’s commitment to advancing energy-efficient vehicles. PDB COO, Azureen Azita Abdullah, emphasised that the partnership with Blueshark and EPMB would create a robust ecosystem for electric two-wheelers in Malaysia. Meanwhile, Blueshark Malaysia CEO, Jeff Chong, described the rollout as a defining step in making smart, connected motorcycles accessible to everyday riders while establishing Malaysia as a regional EV hub.
The SoloEra Solo 1C has already attracted more than 6,000 registrations of interest within just over a month of its pre-launch campaign in July. With promotional pricing starting from RM599—supported by MARiiCas rebates, Setel, and Mesra Rewards—the model has quickly emerged as one of the most affordable EV motorcycles in the market.
Designed to ease the shift from internal combustion motorcycles to electric mobility, the Solo 1C delivers a top speed of 75 km/h and up to 101 km of range on a single charge from its 2,000W second-generation LFP battery. It offers both direct charging via a standard 3-pin socket and upcoming battery-swapping options.
Riders can choose from four riding modes, including a Motor Assist Mode, while smart connectivity features include app integration, telematics, remote locking, anti-theft protection, and a “Find My Vehicle” function. Available in Nebula Green, Nova Orange, and Lunar White, the Solo 1C is locally assembled at EPMB’s Glenmarie plant and has the potential to reduce annual carbon emissions by up to 3,500 kg compared to conventional 150cc motorcycles.
With its combination of affordability, technology, and environmental benefits, the SoloEra Solo 1C represents an important step toward mainstream adoption of electric motorcycles in Malaysia.
