The Toyota Corolla GR Sport comes with a tuned suspension, sporty rims, unique bumpers, and more.
UMW Toyota Motor today officially launched the Toyota Corolla GR Sport in Malaysia, which is essentially a sportier version of the Corolla with a combination of both mechanical as well as cosmetic enhancements.
Priced at RM152,800, the Corolla GR Sport which asks for RM5,000 more than the Corolla 1.8G, comes with a few cosmetic enhancements that make it look significantly sportier than the regular Corolla.
At the front, the honeycomb mesh-patterned radiator grille is raised while the lower section is wider black. There is also a front underbody protector installed, visually lowering the stance of the car. Unlike the other variants, the auto-retractable door mirrors of the Corolla GR Sport have a black finish.
The Corolla GR Sport also comes with larger 18-inch alloy wheels with an exclusive design and a Machine/Dark Gray Metallic finish. Larger and wider 225/40R18 tyres are fitted for extra grip and steering feel. A temporary spare wheel is provided in the event of punctures.
Available in three exterior colours, namely Red Mica Metallic, Platinum White Pearl MC and Attitude Black, the Corolla GR Sport has also gone through some mechanical enhancements. To be precise, the model is fitted with precision-tuned GR Sport Suspension and an anti-roll bar which promise to offer greater handling and driving feel compared with the regular Corolla.
As for the interior, the Corolla GR Sport features GR emblems on the carpets, as well as the black leather sport seats which come with contrasting red stitching for that sporty look. The seats also come with additional added bolstering for extra comfort.
Other than that, the list of standard features is identical with the regular Corolla, which comprises the new 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, LED projector headlamps, dual-zone air-conditioning, paddle shifters, eight-way powered driver’s seat, wireless charging, a panoramic view monitor, front and rear DVRs, as well as an electronic parking brake. Infotainment on the other hand, is taken care by a nine-inch touch-screen head unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
Meanwhile, the list of safety features includes seven airbags, VSC, traction control, ABS, EBD, brake assist, hill start assist, emergency stop signal, a tyre pressure monitoring system, as well as ISOFIX child seat anchors.
Last but not least, the Toyota Corolla GR Sport is available in three colours, namely Red Mica Metallic, Platinum White Pearl MC and Attitude Black.
