Didi Resources Sdn Bhd, the sole distributor for Aprilia bikes in Malaysia launched the new Aprilia RS660 yesterday at Suria KLCC.
Resting on an all-new technical basis and defined by the brand-new 100-bhp 660cc parallel-twin engine, the Aprilia RS 660 is the first of Aprilia’s brand-new range of motorcycles that is aimed at those who want a bike that is easy to ride, but also potent enough to hit the racetrack.
Suitable for beginners
The RS 660 raises the concept of sportiness to a new level, focusing on an excellent power-to-weight ratio that is likely to really excite but that is also easy to handle, making it an accessible ride for anyone.
Weighing 183 kg wet, the Aprilia RS 660 comes with various APRC electronic rider aids, a triple LED headlight assembly, perimeter Daytime Running Lights with twilight sensor, self-cancelling turn indicators, as well as cornering lights.
The Aprilia RS 660 also boasts a double fairing with integrated aerodynamic features, comfort-oriented seat-footpeg-handlebar triangulation, comfortable seats, a 15-litre fuel, an adjustable Kayaba fork with 41 mm upside-down stems, braking system made up of a pair of 320 mm diameter steel discs, a pair of radial mount calipers and a radial master cylinder on the handlebars both manufactured by Brembo.

Powering the Aprilia RS 660 is an all-new 660cc parallel-twin cylinder unit derived from the 1100 cc front-banked V4, whose line it follows in both concept and measurements and sports a Euro 5 homologation.
The engine produces 100 hp at 10,500 rpm, with an extension capacity that allows the limiter to be moved up to its 11,500 rpm threshold. The maximum 67 Nm torque is offered at 8,500 rpm, with 80% of the torque available from 4,000 rpm, which becomes 90% when 6,250 rpm are reached. The RS 660 is also available in the 95 hp version which can be disabled, ideal for beginners or less experienced riders.
