XPENG Motors has announced the global rollout of its latest over-the-air (OTA) software update, XOS 5.8.0, beginning August 25. The update reflects the brand’s focus on intelligent driving and smart cabin technologies, promising a more personalized and user-friendly experience for its customers worldwide.
This marks the company’s third major OTA release in 2025, following the XOS 5.4.5 update in January and XOS 5.6.0 in May. Each iteration has introduced new advancements in safety, personalization, and driving assistance, underscoring XPENG’s commitment to continuous innovation.
Smarter Driving Assistance
The highlight of XOS 5.8.0 is the introduction of Human-Machine Co-Driving, making XPENG the first automaker in Europe to provide this feature as standard. When Lane Centering Control (LCC) is active, drivers can share steering input with the system without disengaging its support, resulting in smoother and more natural handling. The update also enhances Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) for improved performance in corners and smoother deceleration.

Pet Mode for Families
Another key addition is Pet Mode, designed to ensure the safety and comfort of pets left inside the vehicle for short periods. The feature automatically locks doors, closes windows, and maintains a comfortable cabin temperature with external air circulation. Owners can also monitor and control the setting remotely via the XPENG app.
Entertainment and Comfort Enhancements
XOS 5.8.0 introduces hands-free in-car karaoke through the KaraFun app, available via the onboard App Store. For greater convenience in warmer regions, the minimum air-conditioning temperature has been reduced to 16°C. The dashcam now includes an Emergency Recording function, adding another layer of security.

Global Personalization
XPENG has expanded its XCOMBO feature, which now supports 21 languages and over 700 customizable functions. Users can create tailored driving and cabin scenarios or switch to pre-set modes for entertainment, safety, or energy efficiency with a single tap.
Alex Tang, Head of International Development of Services at XPENG, said the update reflects the company’s dedication to building “a more diverse, convenient, and intelligent mobility space” while ensuring every upgrade is shaped by user feedback.
With XOS 5.8.0, XPENG continues to push the boundaries of smart mobility, delivering features that prioritize comfort, safety, and personalization for a global audience.
