Volvo Buses Malaysia has officially introduced its latest bus chassis, the B11R, marking a major step forward in cleaner, more efficient public transportation.
Designed to comply with the internationally recognised Euro 5 emissions standard, the new chassis sets a higher benchmark for environmental responsibility while delivering impressive gains in performance, durability, and safety.
Thanks to its advanced exhaust after-treatment system, the B11R cuts emissions by up to 80% compared to earlier Euro 3 and Euro 4 models.
Developed with cutting-edge engineering, the chassis enhances engine efficiency and helps operators reduce long-term maintenance costs. Launched in Malaysia in early 2025, Volvo Buses Malaysia is well positioned to meet customer demand, supported by strong production capacity and streamlined delivery processes.
Upgrading to a Euro 5 powertrain represents a significant milestone for both Volvo and local transport operators. Beyond its cleaner engine, the B11R comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety innovations—a hallmark of the Volvo brand. At the centre of this is the Driver Safety System (DSS), which integrates several active safety technologies to support the driver and prevent accidents.
The DSS package features Collision Warning with Emergency Brake, Forward Collision Warning, Cruise Control, Lane Change Support, and Lane Keeping Support. Together, these systems go far beyond current regulatory requirements, offering enhanced protection for drivers, passengers, and surrounding road users.
