Toyo Tires has launched the all-new Proxes Comfort in Malaysia, marking the first model under its upcoming Proxes product roadmap. The introduction also signals the start of a three-model Proxes rollout planned over the next three years, aimed at supporting the performance demands of modern mobility.
According to Mr Tan Song Chye, President and Managing Director of Toyo Tyre Sales and Marketing Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., Proxes Comfort represents a key milestone in the brand’s long-term strategy, reinforcing Toyo Tires’ focus on safety, comfort, and confidence for Malaysian drivers.
The All-New Proxes Comfort
Developed in Japan, the all-new Proxes Comfort is the next generation of Toyo’s luxury comfort tyre lineup. Engineered for modern mobility, it combines advanced design with proven tyre technologies to deliver a safe, refined, and confidence-inspiring driving experience across Malaysia’s varied road and weather conditions.
Proxes Comfort is designed around three priorities for local drivers: strong wet grip to manage frequent rainfall, stable cornering performance, and sustained ride comfort for long-distance travel. These qualities are achieved through an optimised tread design, balanced contact pressure, and a refined internal tyre structure.
Key Features and Benefits
At its core, Proxes Comfort features an advanced tread compound, reinforced internal construction, and an optimised tread pattern to improve speed stability and braking performance in both wet and dry conditions.
Enhanced speed stability
An optimised tyre profile reduces stress at the bead and belt edges, ensuring consistent road contact at higher speeds and during cornering. This enhances stability during lane changes, tight turns, and extended highway driving, even under varying load conditions.
Improved wet and dry braking performance
Conventional groove designs can lead to uneven contact pressure and reduced braking stability. Proxes Comfort addresses this with Toyo Tires’ Dynamic Taper Design, which allows the grooves to maintain more consistent contact with the road surface. This improves pressure distribution, increases block stiffness, and supports stable braking and handling in both wet and dry conditions, including during sudden stops and heavy rain.
Compared to the Proxes CF2, Proxes Comfort delivers an 8% shorter dry braking distance and a 13% shorter wet braking distance.
Sizes, EV Compatibility, and Pricing
Proxes Comfort is currently available in 14 passenger car and SUV sizes, with rim diameters from 16 to 19 inches. Most variants carry Extra Load (XL) ratings, making them suitable for the higher weight demands of BEVs, HEVs, and PHEVs.
Eleven sizes are EV-ready, with ride comfort and noise reduction rated 5/5, including EV-optimised noise performance. Designed primarily for B-, C-, and E-segment vehicles, Proxes Comfort is suited to drivers who frequently travel long distances or spend extended time on highways.
Recommended retail prices range from RM279 to RM698, depending on size.
