Mercedes-Benz Malaysia introduces the GLE 400e 4MATIC with EQ Hybrid Technology, the brand’s first plug-in hybrid GLE in the country. Assembled locally in Pekan, it combines electrified performance, comfort, and dynamic driving capability.
Amanda Zhang, CEO & President of Mercedes-Benz Malaysia, highlighted that the GLE 400 e 4MATIC reflects the brand’s commitment to sustainable mobility. As a plug-in hybrid, it offers customers a flexible introduction to electrification while maintaining Mercedes-Benz’s focus on innovation, value, and driving confidence.
Nadia Trimmel, Vice President of Marketing & Sales, added that the SUV pairs hybrid efficiency with responsive performance. It provides up to 114 km of electric range (WLTP), advanced driver-assistance systems, and a design that balances style and versatility.
The GLE 400 e 4MATIC combines a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with a 100 kW electric motor, producing a combined 280 kW and 650 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 6.1 seconds with a top speed of 210 km/h. The 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission and 4MATIC all-wheel drive ensure smooth and agile handling.
The hybrid system optimizes electric driving for urban routes and supports all-electric off-road driving. An onboard 11 kW charger allows AC or wallbox charging, with a mode 2 cable included. Ride comfort is enhanced by the AIRMATIC adaptive suspension, which adjusts automatically to conditions, speed, and load.
The AMG Line exterior features a diamond grille, AMG front and rear aprons, side sill panels, and 21-inch AMG 5-twin-spoke wheels. Additional highlights include aluminium-look illuminated running boards, a panoramic sunroof, and MULTIBEAM LED headlights with Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus. Colour options include obsidian black, selenite grey, high-tech silver, and MANUFAKTUR opalite white bright.
Inside, the AMG Line interior offers five seats with ARTICO leather and MICROCUT microfibre upholstery, Anthracite oak wood trims, and a multifunction sports steering wheel. Comfort features include THERMOTRONIC climate control, electrically-adjustable rear seats, USB-C ports, wireless charging, and 64-colour ambient lighting. KEYLESS-GO and HANDS-FREE ACCESS add convenience.
The second-generation MBUX infotainment system features dual 12.3-inch displays, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, MBUX Navigation Premium, and AR navigation. Active Parking Assist with PARKTRONIC and a 360° camera simplify parking, while off-road driving benefits from a transparent bonnet function.
The Driving Assistance Package Plus includes features like Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, Active Steering Assist, and Evasive Steering Assist. Audio is powered by the Burmester® 3D surround system with Dolby Atmos, 13 speakers, and 590 W output.
That said, the Mercedes-Benz GLE 400 e 4MATIC is priced at MYR 498,888 (Peninsular Malaysia, on-the-road without insurance, including 10% Sales Tax).
