PETRONAS Lubricants International (PLI) has raised the bar at the Tokyo Auto Salon by unveiling its first-ever range of lubricants certified by the Japanese Automotive Standards Organization (JASO).
Developed specifically for Japan’s latest generation of advanced engines, the new products mark a significant milestone for the brand in one of the world’s most demanding automotive markets.
The launch is led by PETRONAS Syntium Supreme for passenger vehicles and PETRONAS Urania for personal mobility, highlighting PLI’s focus on delivering high-performance, market-specific solutions tailored to Japanese driving and engineering requirements.
Designed for modern, fuel-efficient passenger cars, PETRONAS Syntium Supreme 0W-16 and 0W-20 meet and surpass API SQ standards while also complying with ILSAC GF-7B fuel economy requirements.
Enhanced with PETRONAS CoolTech+™ Technology, these lubricants help control heat and oxidation, reduce deposit formation, and maintain consistent engine performance throughout the entire oil change interval.
Improved shear stability ensures reliable protection even under high-stress conditions, contributing to smoother operation and fuel efficiency gains of up to 19 percent.
Expanding the lineup further is the PETRONAS Urania 5000 JASO DL-1 0W-30, which marks the first introduction of the Urania range in Japan. It is also among the first PETRONAS Lubricants products to be officially registered under JASO standards in a category with limited global availability.
Formulated with PETRONAS StrongTech™ Technology, it reinforces the oil film for enhanced engine durability, supports longer oil change intervals, reduces maintenance downtime, and improves overall vehicle uptime and fuel economy.
This new product range reflects PLI’s ongoing commitment to providing innovative, localised lubrication solutions. By combining global research and development expertise with Japan-specific performance standards, PLI continues to push forward improvements in engine efficiency, reliability, and long-term performance.
The newly launched lubricants are now available across Japan through Petroplan, the authorised distributor for PETRONAS Lubricants International.
