MG Motor Malaysia begins 2026 on a positive note following a strong year of growth in 2025, driven by new model launches, rising sales, and an expanded aftersales network. Malaysia has also emerged as one of MG’s key markets in the region.
In 2025, MG expanded its local lineup with the launch of the MGS5 EV SUV in May, followed by the MG Cyberster EV in July. The Cyberster, an all-electric rear-wheel-drive roadster, played a major role in strengthening MG’s performance image. The brand also introduced special editions such as the MG5 X Edition and MG4 101 Edition in October, broadening its offerings across both electric and internal combustion models.
The MG Cyberster achieved notable success, with Malaysia becoming the brand’s best-selling market in Asia and Oceania outside China. The country also ranked among the top five global markets for Cyberster sales, underlining Malaysia’s importance to MG’s international operations.

This product momentum translated into steady sales growth towards the end of the year. MG Motor Malaysia recorded month-on-month growth of 20 percent in October, 9 percent in November, and 50 percent in December, reflecting increasing demand across its ICE and EV range.
MG also strengthened its aftersales presence in 2025 with six new authorised service centres, bringing the nationwide total to nineteen. New locations include Old Klang Road, Rimbayu, Miri, Sibu, Alor Setar, and Sunway. The network currently consists of seventeen 3S outlets and two 2S outlets, with further expansions planned in Jalan Ipoh, Kuching, Penang, Tebrau, and Bandar Tun Razak.
“2025 marked a significant milestone for MG in Malaysia, and the response from customers has been very encouraging,” said Emory Qi, Managing Director of SAIC Motor Malaysia. “As we move into 2026, our focus remains on delivering engaging driving experiences, practical innovation, and reliable ownership support.”

To start the year, MG Motor Malaysia will run a nationwide showroom campaign titled Drive British Dynamics This CNY from 23 to 31 January 2026. Customers who participate in test drives during the campaign stand a chance to receive Touch ’n Go credits worth RM100, subject to terms and conditions.
In conjunction with the Chinese New Year period, MG is also offering limited-time promotions across its model range, with savings of up to RM28,000 on the MG S5 EV, RM42,000 on the MG HS, RM28,000 on the MG4 EV, and RM11,000 on the MG5. Selected models are available with expedited delivery of under one week, subject to availability and terms.
MG Motor Malaysia is also running a Chinese New Year aftersales promotion from 16 January to 16 February 2026. Offers include a free 30-point vehicle inspection, 15 percent off maintenance parts, 10 percent off labour charges, and complimentary festive gifts.
