Mercedes-Benz Now Provides Mobile Charging Services for EQ Owners

MB Power-Up

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has introduced a new convenience for its electric vehicle (EV) customers through the MB Platinum 5 plan, made possible by a collaboration with Power-Up (P.UP) by Nazamax Malaysia. The initiative gives EQ owners exclusive access to an on-demand mobile charging service, designed to deliver greater peace of mind and flexibility.

The P.UP service brings power directly to a customer’s chosen location, addressing one of the most common challenges in EV ownership—charging availability. Using mobile vans equipped with up to 120kWh DC fast chargers, the service can perform quick top-ups without requiring the owner to be present.

Edmin Naidoo, Vice President of Customer Services for Mercedes-Benz Malaysia & SEA II, highlighted the importance of the partnership in supporting Malaysia’s EV ecosystem saying, “As we progress towards advancing electric mobility in Malaysia, we are committed to enhancing the overall ownership experience for our EV customers. The collaboration with P.UP exemplifies our vision to provide not just cutting-edge vehicles, but also comprehensive service solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers while contributing to the national EV goals of expanding charging accessibility.”

Echoing this vision, SM Fauzi Dato Hj SM Shalahuddin, CEO of P.UP Nazamax Malaysia said, “We are proud to introduce this groundbreaking service to Malaysians. The response from Mercedes-Benz EQ customers has been overwhelmingly positive, and we are eager to continue expanding our reach to other regions in the near future. This expansion aligns with P.UP’s vision of solving key pain points faced by EV owners, ensuring that convenient charging solutions are accessible across Malaysia.”

The pilot programme was first rolled out in Penang in September 2024. Since then, it has expanded to the Klang Valley with three mobile charging vans in operation. Johor Bahru is set to follow in the first quarter of 2026, with full coverage across Peninsular Malaysia targeted by the second half of the year.

At the heart of the initiative is the MB Platinum 5 plan, which offers five mobile charging sessions per month of up to 80% state-of-charge. Each session includes additional services such as a hand wash, vacuuming, and tyre shine.

Customers can subscribe on a monthly, half-yearly, or annual basis, with service fees and parking charges covered up to RM5 per session. Bookings can be made easily via the P.UP mobile app, allowing the service to be dispatched directly to the customer’s vehicle at home, at work, or elsewhere.

As Malaysia accelerates its transition to greener mobility solutions, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia continues to champion its “Luxury of Choice” philosophy—offering internal combustion, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric models. With solutions like P.UP’s mobile charging, EQ owners gain added convenience, flexibility, and assurance that reliable charging is always within reach.
