Bermaz Motor has officially introduced the Mazda CX-80 alongside the CX-60 to the Malaysian market. The three-row SUV, fully imported (CBU) from Japan, is Mazda’s second model from its Large Product Group and is priced from RM330,000.
First shown in Europe in April 2024 and previewed locally at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show 2024, the CX-80 arrives as Mazda’s flagship family SUV. Built on the brand’s Large Architecture Platform, it offers a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain, premium design, and extensive safety features.
The CX-80 is powered by a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor, producing a combined 323 hp and 500 Nm of torque. A 17.8 kWh lithium-ion battery enables up to 65 km of electric-only driving, while overall fuel consumption is rated at 1.6 l/100 km (WLTP). The SUV has a top speed of 195 km/h.
The SUV follows Mazda’s “Kodo – Soul of Motion” design language, featuring elongated proportions, slim adaptive LED headlamps, and a distinctive lighting signature. Inside, it offers a six-seat layout with second-row captain’s chairs, a third-row two-seat bench, and premium materials throughout.
Technology highlights include a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment display, a head-up display, and a Driver Personalisation System that adjusts over 250 settings automatically. Connectivity is supported by wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, alongside a 12-speaker Bose audio system.
Built with a front-engine, rear-biased all-wheel-drive layout, the CX-80 uses a double wishbone front and multi-link rear suspension setup. Features such as i-Activ AWD, Kinematic Posture Control, and multiple Mi-Drive modes aim to deliver balanced handling and ride comfort.
The CX-80 earned a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating in 2024. Standard i-Activsense systems include Adaptive LED Headlamps, Blind-Spot Monitoring, Smart Brake Support, Lane-Keep Assist, Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop & Go, and Driver Monitoring.
Bermaz Motor offers the CX-80 with a 5-year/100,000 km manufacturer’s warranty and a 5-year free maintenance package covering labour, parts, and lubricants. The high-voltage battery carries an 8-year/160,000 km warranty.
The Mazda CX-80 is available in Malaysia in five exterior colours: Melting Copper, Artisan Red, Rhodium White, Jet Black, and Platinum Quartz. Bookings are now open at authorised Mazda dealerships nationwide.
