Honda is commemorating the legacy of its legendary Civic Type R with the launch of a special ‘Ultimate Edition’—a final tribute before the model’s discontinuation across Europe.
Just 40 units of this exclusive edition are available across the region, along with the remaining standard models as the Civic Type R approaches the end of its European journey in 2026.
Celebrating nearly three decades of hot hatch performance, the Ultimate Edition comes finished in Honda’s iconic Championship White. Bold red decals sweep across the bonnet and sides, complementing the signature Type R badge. A sleek black-painted roof adds contrast, while carbon fibre details—including a wing spoiler and door garnishes—enhance the car’s sporty aesthetic.
Inside the cabin, the carbon fibre design continues with a custom centre console panel. Subtle ambient lighting highlights features such as the door lining, footwells, cup holders, and under-seat area. Unique to this edition is a door-mounted projector that displays the Type R logo when the front doors are opened.
Owners of the Ultimate Edition will also receive an exclusive package that includes a numbered emblem (1 to 40), a carbon-finished key ring, custom floor mats, and a tailored car cover—collectibles designed to appeal to true Type R enthusiasts.

Since its debut in 1997 with the sixth-generation Civic hatchback in Japan, the Civic Type R has become synonymous with high-performance engineering. Over six generations and numerous special editions, it has built a global fan base, firmly rooted in motorsport heritage and racing spirit.
Throughout its history, the Civic Type R has proven its capabilities by setting front-wheel-drive production car records on iconic circuits, including multiple lap times at Germany’s Nürburgring Nordschleife. It has also left its mark on tracks like Magny-Cours, Spa-Francorchamps, Hungaroring, Estoril, Suzuka, Silverstone, and Australia’s Mount Panorama.
Its success extends beyond track days, with the Civic Type R also making a strong impact in motorsport. The model has secured drivers’ and team titles in the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC), World Touring Car Cup (WTCR), and various regional series. These championships, which feature production-based, front-wheel-drive vehicles, have served as an ideal platform for showcasing the Type R’s racing DNA.
