Eco-Shop Marketing Bhd has added 30 new UD Trucks Euro 5 Quester and Croner models to its logistics fleet to support growing transportation needs and strengthen its sustainability efforts.
The vehicles were officially handed over at a ceremony held at Eco-Shop’s headquarters, attended by senior representatives from Eco-Shop, UD Trucks, and sole distributor Tan Chong Industrial Equipment Sdn Bhd (TCIE). Eco-Shop CEO and Executive Director Jessica Ng received the symbolic truck key from UD Trucks Region Director for Southeast Asia & East Asia, Keiichiro Ochiai, and TCIE Chief Operating Officer, Loh Thim Choy.
With the latest additions, Eco-Shop now operates 61 UD Trucks, which will be used to distribute goods to its retail outlets across Peninsular Malaysia and Sarawak. The company purchased its first UD Trucks in 2018.
The Euro 5 Quester and Croner models are equipped with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) emission control technology, reducing nitrogen oxides by up to 60% and particulate matter by 80% compared with Euro 3 standards. The system also supports longer engine life, lower maintenance, and improved fuel efficiency.
Ng said the trucks will help Eco-Shop manage its expanding logistics operations while cutting operating costs and reducing environmental impact. “We opted for the new UD Trucks Euro 5 vehicles for their proven reliability, cleaner emissions, and strong aftermarket support from TCIE,” she said.
Ochiai added that the new fleet will boost Eco-Shop’s logistics productivity. “UD Trucks is committed to integrating efficiency and sustainability into customers’ operations, and we are confident the Euro 5 range will support Eco-Shop’s growth,” he said.
Loh highlighted TCIE’s role in supporting the fleet with service and AdBlue supply, a diesel exhaust fluid used in SCR systems. “Eco-Shop’s decision to expand with UD Trucks reflects confidence in both product quality and our aftermarket services,” he said.
The Euro 5 Quester and Croner trucks include real-time fuel coaching systems for drivers, along with safety and connectivity features such as UD Telematics and ESCOT automated manual transmission. The models are covered by a three-year or 300,000km warranty.
