Chery Malaysia has expanded its local line-up with the introduction of the Tiggo 7 PHEV, a plug-in hybrid SUV designed to meet the needs of drivers seeking both everyday practicality and advanced electrified performance.
Built on Chery’s dedicated Super Hybrid (CSH) platform, the Tiggo 7 PHEV which is priced at RM129,800, pairs a 1.5L turbocharged direct injection engine with a dual-motor hybrid system and an 18.3 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery.

Together, the powertrain produces 275 PS and 365 Nm of torque, offering strong acceleration while maintaining high fuel efficiency. On a full tank and charge, the Tiggo 7 PHEV can travel up to 1,200 kilometres, while its pure electric mode delivers up to 90 kilometres of emissions-free driving — ideal for urban commutes.
Charging is versatile. With DC fast charging at 40 kW, the battery recharges from 30 to 80 percent in just 19 minutes. Using an AC charger, the same charge level is achieved in about three hours, while overnight charging via a standard socket takes approximately 8.5 hours.

The model also supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) at 3.3 kW, enabling the car to power external devices, a practical feature for outdoor use.
Safety is enhanced through Chery’s Guardian Battery Safety System. The setup includes IP68-certified dust and water resistance, high-voltage power cut-off in emergencies, and reliable operation across extreme temperatures. The battery system is also designed for Malaysia’s weather conditions, with a wading depth of 500 mm providing confidence even in flood-prone areas.

The Tiggo 7 PHEV’s design reflects a blend of toughness and sophistication. Its vertical diamond-pattern grille and reshaped bumper create a bold presence, complemented by sportier new alloy wheels. LED headlamps with cornering lights enhance visibility, while double-glazed glass ensures a quieter cabin environment.
Inside, the Tiggo 7 PHEV is driven by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8155 chipset, powering a 24.6-inch integrated dual screen that combines the instrument cluster and infotainment system.

Connectivity and performance are seamless, with the display providing both clarity and fast response. Comfort is supported by ventilated sport leather seats, a spacious cabin layout, and multiple storage solutions. Adjustable ambient lighting with 64 colours further personalises the driving experience.
The model also introduces a range of advanced driver assistance systems. Its ADAS 2.0 suite includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot detection, traffic jam assist, and autonomous emergency braking. A driver monitoring system is exclusive to the Tiggo 7 PHEV, designed to enhance safety by detecting fatigue or distraction.

Warranty and aftersales coverage include seven years or 150,000 kilometres for the vehicle, and eight years or 160,000 kilometres for the hybrid battery, motor, and control unit. Chery also offers a one-to-one battery replacement if the battery health falls below 70 percent during the warranty period. Customers receive five years of free labour service for scheduled maintenance.
As Chery’s entry into Malaysia’s growing plug-in hybrid SUV segment, the Tiggo 7 PHEV balances efficiency with performance. It offers advanced hybrid technology and a feature-rich package at a size and price point expected to appeal to younger families and urban drivers.
