EV manufacturer Zeekr has officially appointed Carro as its newest authorised dealer in Malaysia. The announcement was made on 16 June 2025, during a signing ceremony held at Carro’s flagship store in Puchong.
This partnership marks a significant step forward for Zeekr as the company continues to strengthen its presence in Southeast Asia. According to Alex Bao, Managing Director of Zeekr Southeast Asia, the strong demand for Zeekr’s electric vehicles in Malaysia has been very encouraging.
“We’re excited by the positive response from Malaysian customers. Our partnership with Carro is an important milestone in expanding our sales and after-sales support here,” he said. “It also supports our broader plan as we gear up for the launch of our upcoming model, the Zeekr 7X.”
Carro is Asia Pacific’s largest online car marketplace and is well known in Malaysia for its trusted used car services. This collaboration signals Carro’s expansion into new car sales within Malaysia, following its earlier success in Singapore, where it began selling parallel-imported vehicles with full aftersales and warranty support.
Fong Hon Sum, CEO of International Marketplace at Carro, said, “We’re thrilled to bring more EV options to Malaysians. As demand for electric and hybrid vehicles grows—supported by improving infrastructure and tax incentives—our partnership with Zeekr comes at the perfect time.”
He added that Carro’s experience in the EV sector makes it well-equipped to provide reliable services such as inspections, maintenance, and repairs. Zeekr customers in Malaysia can also expect a full range of Carro offerings, including vehicle financing through Genie Financial Services, servicing through Carro Care, and insurance via Coverro.
Currently, Zeekr operates three showrooms in Malaysia, known as Zeekr Space, located in Petaling Jaya and IOI Mall Puchong. Plans are already in place to open four more locations, including new outlets in Juru Autocity, Klang Valley, and Seremban. Additionally, three new Carro Care workshops will be introduced to enhance aftersales service coverage.
Zeekr made its Malaysian debut in December 2024 with two models: the Zeekr 009 MPV and the Zeekr X SUV.
