Bermaz Motor has officially launched the all-new third-generation Mazda CX-5 in Malaysia, with the latest SUV continuing Mazda’s focus on Kodo design, driving dynamics, comfort and everyday practicality.
The all-new Mazda CX-5 is fully imported from Japan and produced at Mazda’s Hiroshima plant. In Malaysia, the model is offered in a 2.5G 2WD High variant priced at RM171,510.40.

The third-generation CX-5 retains the familiar SUV silhouette of its predecessor but gains a longer wheelbase, a wider rear track and a more substantial overall stance. Mazda has also revised the front-end design with a redesigned Signature Wing, sharper double light units and wider bumper openings.
At the rear, the CX-5 gets new linear LED graphics, larger “MAZDA” lettering and new 19-inch alloy wheels. The vehicle is also 15mm wider at the rear, contributing to a more planted appearance.

More spacious interior
Inside, Mazda has focused heavily on improving cabin space and usability. The longer wheelbase provides rear passengers with 64mm more knee clearance and 29mm more headroom, while the rear door opening has been widened by 70mm to make entry and exit easier. The cargo floor is also around 45mm longer, allowing larger items such as strollers to be stored more easily.

Up front, the CX-5 features a new 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen alongside a 10.25-inch instrument cluster. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, while the center console has been redesigned with more accessible cupholders, a Qi wireless charger and Type-C USB ports.
Other equipment includes a 12-speaker Bose sound system, seven-color ambient lighting and a 360-degree View Monitor with See Through View.
2.5-litre naturally aspirated engine
Power comes from Mazda’s SkyActiv-G 2.5-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, producing 185 hp and 257 Nm of torque.
The engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, with Mazda focusing on smooth power delivery and natural shift characteristics rather than outright performance.

The CX-5 also receives chassis and suspension improvements, including a higher-tensile steel structure for increased rigidity, revised suspension tuning and Mazda’s G-Vectoring Control Plus system.

Mazda says these changes are aimed at improving steering response, body control, ride comfort and overall stability, while enhanced NVH insulation further reduces unwanted noise inside the cabin.
Comprehensive i-Activsense safety suite
Safety equipment is extensive, with the all-new CX-5 featuring Mazda’s i-Activsense suite. The systems include Adaptive LED Headlights, Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Front Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning, Lane-keep Assist, Driver Attention Alert with Driver Monitoring, Smart Brake Support and Emergency Lane Keeping.

Mazda Radar Cruise Control and Cruising & Traffic Support are also included, while Smart Brake Support incorporates additional functions covering front, rear, intersection and crossing traffic scenarios.
The all-new CX-5 has also recently received the 2026 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK Plus award in the United States.
Five exterior colors
The Malaysian CX-5 is available in Rhodium White, Soul Red Crystal, Jet Black, Navy Blue and Aero Gray.

Navy Blue and Aero Gray are the newer additions to the color range, with Aero Gray previously offered on models including the Mazda2, CX-3 and MX-5.
As with other Mazda models in Malaysia, the all-new CX-5 comes with a five-year manufacturer’s warranty and five-year free maintenance program, covering maintenance, labor, parts and lubricants. The coverage is valid for five years or 100,000km, whichever comes first.

With its updated styling, larger cabin, naturally aspirated 2.5-litre engine and expanded safety and technology package, the all-new Mazda CX-5 continues Mazda’s attempt to combine everyday SUV practicality with its signature driver-focused character.
