Hyundai Motor Malaysia recently launched the new Hyundai Stargazer in Malaysia, with prices starting from RM99,800 for the seven-seat Style variant.
The new Stargazer is available in three variants – Style, Prime and X – with prices ranging from RM99,800 to RM121,800. While the Style and Prime retain a seven-seat layout, the range-topping Stargazer X gets a six-seat 2+2+2 configuration with individual captain chairs.
Hyundai is positioning the new Stargazer as its “WEhicle”, with the MPV designed around family use, combining flexible seating, storage solutions, connectivity and driver-assistance technology.
Three variants, three different approaches
The Stargazer Style starts at RM99,800 and comes with a 2+3+2 seven-seat layout, LED headlamps with H-signature daytime running lights, 16-inch alloy wheels and an 8-inch multimedia system. It also gets a 4.2-inch TFT LCD instrument cluster.
Priced at RM109,800, the Stargazer Prime adds more technology and safety equipment, including dual 10.25-inch displays and Hyundai SmartSense ADAS 2.0.
Its driver-assistance features include Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist and Lane Following Assist. The Prime also gets six airbags, while roof-mounted rear air-conditioning vents are available to improve ventilation for passengers in the rear rows.
At the top of the range is the Stargazer X, priced at RM121,800. Rather than simply adding equipment, the X gets a noticeably different character, with SUV-inspired styling, sporty front and rear bumpers, a rear spoiler, black Hyundai badges and black gloss alloy wheels.
Inside, the key difference is its 2+2+2 captain-chair configuration, giving the six-seater a more spacious and premium cabin layout. It also comes with full leatherette seats, Shift-By-Wire transmission control and a floating centre console with a detachable tray.
Built around family practicality
Hyundai has focused on making the Stargazer’s cabin adaptable to everyday family use rather than relying on seating capacity alone. Practical touches include a cargo floor box with a lid, seat-back tables and multiple USB ports, allowing passengers to keep personal items and devices organised throughout a journey.
The flexible seating layouts are intended to accommodate different combinations of passengers and luggage, while selected variants get features such as wireless charging, electronic parking brake with Auto Hold and dual 10.25-inch displays.
Hyundai adds resale value protection
Beyond the vehicle itself, Hyundai Motor Malaysia is also launching several ownership programmes with the new Stargazer. During the launch period, buyers can opt for an Early Bird Value Package priced at RM4,600, inclusive of the RM88 booking fee. The package includes eight free after-sales service visits or four years of service, as well as a RM1,000 All-Star Reward.
Existing Hyundai owners buying a new Stargazer are eligible for an additional RM1,000 rebate under the programme. The Stargazer is also covered by an eight-year/160,000km myHyundaiCare warranty programme.
More notably, Hyundai is introducing a Resale Value Protection (RVP) Programme, which guarantees a predetermined resale value when customers upgrade to another Hyundai vehicle, subject to the programme’s terms and conditions.
The guaranteed value is set at:
- 70% in the third year, up to 60,000km
- 60% in the fourth year, up to 80,000km
- 50% in the fifth year, up to 100,000km
The programme is intended to give buyers greater visibility over the vehicle’s future value and make upgrading to another Hyundai more predictable. “The New STARGAZER is not just another MPV entering the market. We call it the ‘WEhicle’. It was engineered around what modern families value most – smart space, accessible premium comfort, and uncompromised safety,” said Jahabarnisa Haja Mohideen, Managing Director of Hyundai Motor Malaysia.
With the new Stargazer, Hyundai is targeting the family MPV segment with a range that stretches from a RM99,800 entry-level seven-seater to a more premium six-seat Stargazer X, while adding ownership and resale-value programmes alongside the vehicle itself.
