JAC Motors has officially unveiled the all-new JAC N90 in Malaysia, introducing a new 7.5-tonne light-duty truck aimed at logistics, construction, and commercial transport operators.
Launched at the Malaysia Commercial Vehicle Expo 2026 at MIECC, Seri Kembangan, the new N90 is positioned as a modern workhorse that combines stronger performance, improved efficiency, advanced safety systems, and lower operating costs.
The launch ceremony was officiated by Anthony Loke during his visit to the JAC Auto Malaysia booth.
The JAC N90 is built with a 7.5-tonne Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) and will be offered with multiple wheelbase configurations ranging from 3,365 mm to 4,800 mm, allowing it to support various commercial applications including cargo transport, refrigerated trucks, construction use, and specialised commercial body conversions.
Powering the N90 is a Cummins B4.5 Euro V diesel engine paired with an Eaton-Fuller ESO-6106A transmission. The 4.5-litre engine produces 118 kW and 540 Nm of torque, with peak torque available from 1,100 rpm to 1,800 rpm for improved load-carrying performance and drivability.
According to JAC, the drivetrain setup is designed to improve fuel efficiency during long-distance highway operations, with the engine operating within an optimal low-rpm range at cruising speeds between 80 km/h and 90 km/h. The company claims this contributes to a 3 to 5 percent reduction in fuel consumption compared to conventional direct-drive transmissions.
The N90 also receives a major upgrade in cabin technology and driver comfort. Interior features include:
- Air-suspension driver seat
- Adjustable armrest
- 10.4-inch multimedia touchscreen
- LCD instrument cluster
Safety equipment has also been significantly improved, with the truck equipped with:
- Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)
- Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
- Acceleration Slip Regulation (ASR)
- Hill-Start Assist (HAS)
JAC says the new N90 is designed to meet the growing demands of modern logistics and transport businesses that require reliable performance, reduced downtime, and lower ownership costs.
The company also highlighted its global collaborations with brands such as Cummins, Volkswagen, and Huawei as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen engineering and manufacturing capabilities.
The JAC light-duty truck lineup is now in its sixth generation globally, with over 3.2 million units sold worldwide to date.
In Malaysia, the JAC N90 is priced from RM118,000 for the bare chassis version and comes with:
- 6-year / 300,000 km warranty
- Complimentary 10,000 km free service programme
Also showcased during the event were the JAC i40 EV light-duty truck and the JAC T9 EV pickup truck, signalling the brand’s growing push into electrified commercial mobility solutions.
