Pro-net, a wholly owned subsidiary of Proton, has introduced a new Emerald Green exterior colour for the Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV, giving buyers another option as demand for electrified vehicles continues to rise in Malaysia.

The new colour joins the existing Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV line-up as a permanent addition and is available for booking from today. More importantly, Pro-net is also using the update to push the model’s value proposition, with the Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV Prime continuing to be priced from RM105,800.

That pricing keeps the e.MAS 7 PHEV in a highly competitive position, especially for buyers looking to step into electrified motoring without going fully electric. According to Pro-net, the model also offers fuel consumption as low as 4.3 litres per 100 km, while projected 10-year servicing costs remain below RM8,000, making long-term ownership closer to an EV than a conventional petrol-powered car.

Since making its Malaysian debut earlier this year, the Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV has apparently gained strong traction in the plug-in hybrid segment, helping further strengthen the Proton e.MAS brand’s position in the local EV and electrified vehicle space.

According to Pro-net Chief Branding Officer Salawati Yusoff, the introduction of Emerald Green is aimed at giving customers more choice while complementing the model’s design and electrified identity.

Under the skin, the Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV is powered by Proton’s EM-i Advanced Hybrid Technology, which combines a 1.5-litre hybrid-dedicated engine with an 11-in-1 Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT). The system produces a total of 160 kW and 262 Nm of torque.

Proton says the hybrid-dedicated engine is tuned specifically for electrified operation and delivers thermal efficiency of up to 46.5%, which is impressive on paper and should translate to stronger fuel economy in real-world use.

The hybrid transmission, meanwhile, is engineered to deliver smoother responses while reducing energy losses, with claimed system efficiency reaching 92.5%.

Like most modern hybrid systems, the e.MAS 7 PHEV can automatically switch between EV mode, series hybrid mode, and parallel hybrid mode depending on the driving situation.

Drivers can also choose between Pure, Hybrid, and Power drive modes, depending on whether they prioritise electric-only commuting, automatic energy management, or stronger acceleration.
