Volvo EX30 Gets New 150PS Variant for 2026

Volvo EX30

The Volvo EX30 enters the new model year with upgrades such as new entry-level powertrains, expanded trim choices, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, refreshed interior themes, and a redesigned user interface. Several of these enhancements will also be made available to existing owners via free over-the-air (OTA) updates.

Globally, a new entry-level powertrain delivers 110kW (150PS) paired with a 51kWh battery, offering up to 339km of range. This lowers the entry threshold while maintaining the EX30’s premium positioning for daily urban use.

For drivers requiring extended range, the 69kWh battery option provides up to 476km. Combined with existing dual-motor variants, the expanded line-up allows customers to choose between efficiency-focused commuting and higher-output performance configurations.

The EX30 Cross Country range also grows with the addition of a Plus trim level and a more efficient single-motor option, broadening its appeal beyond lifestyle buyers.

The EX30 is now also hardware-ready for V2L functionality, allowing the vehicle to act as a mobile power source. With an adapter, the car can supply stored battery energy to external devices such as electric bicycles, power tools, camping equipment, or small appliances.

According to Volvo, activation will be delivered via OTA updates in selected markets.

There is also a new UX update that restructures the settings and control architecture for faster, more intuitive access. Enhancements include:

  • A redesigned layout prioritising commonly used controls
  • A customisable content bar for predictive or user-defined shortcuts
  • Improved navigation within vehicle settings

The UX update and V2L functionality are scheduled to be rolled out to both new and existing EX30 customers via OTA software updates.

New Interior Configurations

Two additional interior themes expand personalisation:

Harvest Interior
A light-toned Scandinavian-inspired theme combining woven recycled textiles, Nordico upholstery made from recycled materials, dark flax décor, and a contrasting black headliner. The focus is on warmth and sustainability with a premium finish.

Black Interior
A deep-black execution featuring Nordico upholstery with contrast stitching and dark flax décor for a minimalist, contemporary look.

The EX30 Black Edition now offers the new Black interior alongside three exterior colours: Onyx Black, Vapour Grey, and Crystal White.

Malaysia Line-Up & Pricing

In Malaysia, the EX30 is currently offered in two core locally assembled variants: Ultra (Single Motor Extended Range) and Ultra Twin Motor Performance. Pricing stands at RM208,888 for the Ultra and RM228,888 for the Ultra Twin Motor Performance.

Both variants use a 69kWh battery, with the single-motor version delivering up to 476km of range, while the dual-motor prioritises higher performance with slightly reduced range. DC fast charging of up to 175kW is supported across the range.
