iCAUR Malaysia has announced that its all-electric V23 SUV has secured a full five-star safety rating from the ASEAN New Car Assessment Programme (ASEAN NCAP), achieving an overall score of 91.02 points.
The result highlights the V23’s strong showing across all major evaluation categories under the latest ASEAN NCAP 2021–2025 assessment protocol, reinforcing the brand’s focus on advanced safety alongside its distinctive “Born to Play” identity.
Chery Corporate Malaysia Executive Vice President, Men Lin Bo, described the achievement as a significant milestone for the brand. He noted that the iCAUR V23 brings a fresh and energetic take on electric mobility while maintaining a strong emphasis on occupant and road user protection.
He also emphasised iCAUR’s close collaboration with Malaysian authorities, including MIROS, in supporting the advancement of vehicle safety standards and awareness nationwide.

Under the current testing framework, the iCAUR V23 recorded 39.71 points for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), 16.67 points for Child Occupant Protection (COP), 17.14 points for Safety Assist Technologies (SATs), and 17.50 points for Motorcyclist Safety (MS).
These results place the V23 among the top-performing models assessed under the 2021–2025 protocol, while also making it the first fully electric off-road SUV to undergo ASEAN NCAP evaluation.
The V23’s safety credentials are underpinned by a robust structural design, featuring a cage-type body construction that utilises 70 per cent high-strength steel. This rigid foundation is complemented by a Battery Management System (BMS) designed to provide high-voltage protection and precise liquid-cooled temperature control, helping to safeguard the battery pack in the event of an impact.
Together, these elements are engineered to deliver consistent protection in both daily driving and more demanding off-road conditions.
As standard, the iCAUR V23 is equipped with six airbags and a Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) across both the 2WD and iWD variants. A millimetre-wave radar integrated into the vehicle body further enhances detection accuracy across varied traffic and driving environments.
Standard ADAS features include Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Drive Away Info (DAI), Front Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Change Warning (LCW), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Rear Collision Warning (RCW), Lane Departure Prevention (LDP), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Traffic Jam Assist (TJA), Blind Spot Detection (BSD), and Door Opening Warning (DOW).

According to iCAUR Malaysia, the V23’s strong ASEAN NCAP performance reflects the brand’s holistic approach to safety and its commitment to maintaining high safety standards for Malaysian motorists, offering added reassurance for both drivers and passengers.
