Hyundai Motor Malaysia (HMY) and Edaran Otomobil Nasional Berhad (EON) have formalised a new phase of cooperation with the signing of a Letter of Intent (LOI), setting the stage for an expanded Hyundai retail network nationwide.
The move underlines Hyundai’s continued confidence in Malaysia as a key market, with a focus on delivering long-term customer value, service quality and improved access for buyers.
As outlined in the LOI, the two parties will collaborate on the establishment of two new Hyundai dealerships in strategic, high-growth locations—Klang Valley and Penang—with both facilities targeted to commence operations in the first half of 2026.

These regions were selected due to their strong demand outlook, growing consumer interest and accelerating adoption of hybrid vehicles, positioning them as important centres for Hyundai’s expanding model range.
The upcoming dealerships will play a central role in strengthening customer confidence by offering integrated sales, service and aftersales support closer to major population hubs.
Beyond enhancing convenience, the partnership is expected to broaden Hyundai’s reach into new customer groups, reinforce brand trust through consistent nationwide representation, and support Malaysia’s transition towards safer, smarter and more sustainable mobility solutions. Looking ahead, Hyundai plans to further develop its ecosystem through wider dealer coverage and higher service benchmarks.
Commenting on the collaboration, Hyundai Motor Malaysia Managing Director Ms Jahabarnisa Haja Mohideen said the partnership goes beyond network expansion, emphasising long-term trust and value creation for Malaysian customers.

She noted that EON’s established standing and nationwide footprint make it a strategic partner, enabling Hyundai to pair global innovation with strong local execution to deliver accessible, high-quality retail experiences in a sustainable manner.
EON Berhad Chief Executive Officer Mr Akkbar Danial said the alliance aligns with EON’s ongoing efforts to explore new opportunities that contribute to Malaysia’s mobility landscape. Guided by the company’s “Passion Drives Possibilities” ethos, he added that welcoming Hyundai into EON’s brand portfolio will allow the group to deliver greater value and choice to customers.
With a well-established automotive presence across Malaysia, EON brings extensive operational experience and network strength to the partnership. Together, Hyundai Motor Malaysia and EON aim to leverage Hyundai’s global mobility expertise alongside EON’s local market capabilities to elevate retail and ownership experiences for customers nationwide.
