Seiko has expanded its Prospex Speedtimer lineup with three new limited-edition models inspired by the legendary Datsun 240Z, alongside three additional timepieces joining the main collection.
These new releases fuse motorsport heritage, vintage design cues, and modern Seiko technology, resulting in a series that celebrates performance and precision.
The collaboration watches—SPB517, SRQ057, and SSC957—take direct design inspiration from the Datsun 240Z’s iconic styling. Red and black accents reflect the sports car’s signature aesthetic, while each model features a different interpretation of the historic Datsun logo on its dial.

The SPB517, powered by the mechanical Caliber 6R55, carries a Datsun emblem with a red circle, blue rectangle, and white lettering. The SRQ057, running on the Caliber 8R48 mechanical chronograph movement, showcases the Datsun name rendered in flowing cursive script.
The SSC957, equipped with the solar V192 chronograph, presents the logo in bold block letters. Arabic numerals on all three models echo the gauges found in the 240Z’s cabin.
Each case back features unique artwork: the SPB517 uses the Datsun logo from the era, the SRQ057 carries a design derived from the 240Z rally car’s emblem, and the SSC957 includes a specially commissioned illustration of the car itself.
The SPB517 includes a countdown timer used for race start intervals or pit tasks like tire changes and refueling. The SRQ057 features an external tachymeter designed in the style of the original 1969 Speedtimer, with Seiko’s vertical clutch and column wheel ensuring smooth and precise chronograph operation.

Caliber 8R48 also offers a 30-minute counter at nine o’clock and a 12-hour counter at six, with MEMS-crafted components for improved durability and accuracy. The solar-powered SSC957 provides a 60-minute chronograph, a 24-hour sub-dial, and can operate for up to six months on a full charge without light exposure.
All three watches come with leather straps sourced from Leather Working Group–certified tanneries. Sweat-resistant linings help protect the material, while the SPB517 adds perforations for a more athletic look.
The trio is available now at Seiko boutiques and selected retail partners, with production limited to 2,500 pieces for the SPB517, 500 pieces for the SRQ057, and 4,000 pieces for the SSC957.
Seiko also expands the main Prospex Speedtimer range with three additional models: two powered by Caliber 6R55 and one by Caliber 8R48. The Caliber 6R55 watches feature silver-white or black dials housed in 39.5 mm cases with 20-bar water resistance and a 1970s-inspired silhouette influenced by a 1972 Speedtimer chronograph. A multi-row bracelet ensures a secure and comfortable wrist fit.
The new Caliber 8R48 model joins the continuous-production lineup with a black bezel matching its dial, complete with a tachymeter scale for enhanced readability and a sportier presence. Like the collaboration chronograph, it benefits from the technical strengths of the 8R movement family.
All three mainline Speedtimer models are now available through Seiko boutiques and authorized retail partners worldwide.
