UMW Toyota Motor Malaysia has officially partnered with Johor Darul Ta’zim Football Club (JDT), marking a significant collaboration between one of the nation’s leading automotive brands and the reigning champions of Malaysian football.

As part of the deal, Toyota becomes JDT’s Official Mobility Partner, with its logo taking pride of place on the club’s home and away jerseys for the 2025–26 season.

The agreement was unveiled ahead of the new season, with both parties expressing a shared commitment to performance, innovation, and excellence. In announcing the partnership, JDT emphasised the synergy between the two brands, highlighting their mutual drive to “move forward with strength and purpose.”

The Toyota branding will be prominently displayed across both the primary and alternative kits. The alternate design features a striking turquoise and white colour combination, along with Toyota’s “Move Your World” slogan and a distinctive outline of Johor on the upper back — a visual nod to the club’s roots and local pride.

This latest move strengthens Toyota’s engagement with Malaysian football at a local level, adding to its broader involvement in sports across Asia. The brand has previously supported football initiatives through regional tournaments and community programmes, but this tie-up with JDT represents a more targeted approach to connecting with Malaysian fans.

For JDT, the deal not only enhances their commercial portfolio but also reinforces their position as a club capable of attracting top-tier partners. Toyota, in turn, gains access to JDT’s loyal and passionate fan base, as well as valuable visibility in stadiums, on broadcasts, and across the club’s expanding digital platforms.

The partnership is more than just a sponsorship; it symbolises a union of two leaders in their respective fields. JDT’s relentless pursuit of footballing success mirrors Toyota’s dedication to delivering quality, performance, and innovation in the automotive industry.

Supporters saw the new partnership in action for the first time during the 2025 Malaysia Charity Shield (Piala Sumbangsih), which took place on 8 August 2025 at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium.

The match served as the curtain-raiser for the domestic season, as JDT aimed to build on their historic 2024–25 campaign, when they completed a clean sweep of the Super League, FA Cup, and Malaysia Cup titles.

The collaboration strengthened Toyota’s involvement in Malaysian football at a local level, adding to the brand’s broader engagement in sports across Asia. Toyota had previously supported football through regional tournaments and community programmes, but its tie-up with JDT marked a more focused effort to connect with Malaysian fans.

For JDT, the agreement expanded their commercial portfolio and reinforced their status as a club capable of attracting high-calibre partners. Toyota, in return, gained access to JDT’s dedicated fan base and enjoyed significant exposure in stadiums, during live broadcasts, and across the club’s fast-growing digital channels.

The partnership was more than a simple sponsorship arrangement; it represented a meeting of two leaders in their respective arenas. JDT’s relentless pursuit of footballing success mirrored Toyota’s commitment to delivering quality, performance, and innovation in the automotive industry.

As the Southern Tigers entered the new season, Toyota’s backing provided an added boost — both symbolically and practically — to the team’s ambitions. With the 2025–26 campaign underway, the collaboration delivered not only exciting football action but also a stronger link between sport, community, and mobility in Malaysia.
