GWM Malaysia has launched a new variant of its best-selling Haval H6 HEV, now available with a Phantom Black interior. This addition caters to customer demand for a more refined cabin design, while maintaining the existing exterior colour choices.
The black interior joins the current lineup to provide more personalisation options for buyers, without changes to the vehicle’s core features or specifications.
“The feedback from our customers shows a clear preference for modern and premium interior finishes,” said Roslan Abdullah, Chief Operating Officer of GWM Malaysia. “With this update, we are enhancing the overall value of the H6 HEV without altering its proven performance and reliability.”
Under the hood, the H6 HEV is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged inline-four petrol engine producing 150 PS and 230 Nm of torque. This is paired with a permanent-magnet synchronous electric motor delivering 177 PS and 300 Nm.
Together, the system produces a total output of 243 PS and 530 Nm, sent to the front wheels via a 2-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT). This setup enables the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 7.7 seconds, with a top speed of around 175 km/h.
Fuel efficiency is rated at just 5.8 litres per 100 km, and with a 61-litre fuel tank, the H6 HEV offers a driving range of over 1,000 km. This was recently proven in real-world ASEAN test runs where the SUV exceeded 1,200 km on a single tank. These figures place the H6 HEV among the most efficient C-segment hybrid SUVs available in Malaysia.
Built on a 2,738 mm wheelbase, the SUV measures 4,683 mm long, 1,886 mm wide, and 1,724 mm high, offering generous space for both passengers and cargo. It provides 560 litres of boot capacity, which expands to 1,485 litres with the rear seats folded.
The vehicle rides on 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 225/55 R19 Hankook Ventus S1 Evo3 tyres and features a suspension setup comprising MacPherson struts in front and a multi-link system at the rear.
Inside, the H6 HEV is equipped with a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a head-up display.
Other standard features include ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control with rear vents, wireless charging, ambient lighting, and an eight-speaker sound system.
Safety and driver assistance are handled by a comprehensive Level 2 ADAS suite. This includes Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Traffic Jam Assist, Intelligent Parking Assist, and a 360-degree camera system with transparent chassis view.
The SUV is also equipped with six airbags, electronic stability control, and tyre pressure monitoring.
The H6 HEV is priced at RM139,800 (on-the-road without insurance) and comes with an extensive warranty package. This includes a 7-year/200,000 km vehicle warranty, 10-year/1,000,000 km engine warranty, and 8-year/1,000,000 km hybrid system coverage.
