New MINI 3 Door, 5 Door, Convertible, Electric Launched – From RM217k

New 2021 MINI

MINI Malaysia today introduced the New MINI 3 Door, MINI 5 Door, and MINI Convertible alongside the latest generation of the MINI Electric.

The recommended retail prices with Sales and Services Tax Exemption (on the road, without insurance) are:

The New MINI range now features a new front design, characteristic side scuttles, and a redesigned rear apron. The new models also get new light alloy wheels, new MINI colours, a redesigned steering wheel, interior surfaces, and air outlets.

New 2021 MINI

The new models now have a sleek front grille that forms a single unbroken hexagon. It extends low to the ground and serves a dominating look to the front of the cars. Within the front hexagon, the safety bar is hidden behind a body colour panel.

Exterior

All models come with new front bumpers with fog lights replaced with the integration of air curtains for improved aerodynamics, and LED headlights with a new inner housing in High Gloss black.

The new models also get Piano Black Exterior offering that embellishes the door handles, exhaust tailpipes, MINI logos, model badges and fuel lid in black, further complemented by the modernised side scuttle with LED indicators and model-specific inserts.

Interior

Inside, the new models are equipped with a redesigned steering wheel that features horizontal spokes with a new look for the lower spoke, and buttons which are integrated on an even surface with a Piano Black finish.

The cockpit decor panel geometry is now refreshed with enlarged decor parts and the introduction of new decor designs. The inner and outer air vents have been modernised as well, and are integrated into the cockpit fascia.

The new generation central instrument cluster, with new Piano Black high-gloss surround, also features a larger 8.8-inch display with Navigation and Apple CarPlay, along with modern graphics that now come as standard in the New MINI models.

New tech

The new Digital Instrument Cluster with 5.0-inch colour display, which also uses black panel technology, displays all relevant driving information, with configurable live widgets and two colour schemes: Lounge and Sport. The new MINI Ambient Light with six different colours is also available to round off the refreshed interior atmosphere of the new models.

New 2021 MINI

The new variants are powered by the 2.0-litre 4-Cylinder MINI TwinPower Turbo Engine. The engine is complemented by the 7-Speed Dual Clutch Sports Automatic Transmission to deliver up to 192HP and 280Nm of torque. The New MINI 3 Door and MINI 5 Door has a top speed of 235km/h, whereas the New MINI Convertible has a top speed of 230km/h.

Performance

The New MINI 3 Door and MINI 5 Door can do the century sprint in 6.7 seconds and 6.8 seconds respectively, each consuming 6 litres of fuel for every 100 kilometres, and emits 136 grams of CO2 per kilometre. Meanwhile, the New MINI Convertible goes from 0 to 100km/h in 7.1 seconds. The New MINI Convertible’s fuel consumption is 6.3 l/100km, and a CO2 emission of 143 g/km.

The New MINI 3 Door, MINI 5 Door and MINI Convertible arrive with the Driving Assistant as standard, consisting of the digital high-beam assistant, speed limit information, person warning with light city braking function and approach control warning with light city braking function.

Driver assistance

The Driving Assistant system for the new models will also come with the Parking Assistant, and Lane Departure Warning – which is new to the MINI family line-up and now a standard across all new MINI models.

2021 New MINI 5 door

Drivers will now also be able to have greater digital interaction with the New MINI models via the new MINI App that provides easy access to a wide range of Remote Services, on-the-go navigation, and e-Mobility features. In addition to the Digital Instrument Cluster, Teleservices, MINI Online, Intelligent Emergency Call, Remote Services, and telephony with wireless charging are also standard across all variants.

The MINI Electric

As for the MINI Electric, it features new front bumpers that does away with fog lights and now includes integrated air curtains for improved aerodynamics. A new frontal appearance equips the New MINI Electric, where a new yellow S Badge sits in place of the previous E Badge.

A new body-colour safety bar rests on the front bumper, while a black surround now accentuates the hexagonal shape of the vehicle’s radiator grille.

Adaptive LED headlights with Matrix Functionality now come with high-gloss black inner housing; and along the sides, the New MINI Electric features a modernised side scuttle design that includes LED indicators and Electric-specific inserts.

Towards the rear, the previously Vigorous Grey tailgate handle is now swapped out for a sleek Black, while the rear bumper retains its original design language. The New MINI Electric continues to ride on 17-inch wheels in the MINI Electric Power Spoke two-tone with run flat tyres.

232 km range, 150 km/h top speed

Power comes courtesy of a front-axle electric engine capable of 184HP, and a 12-module T-shaped battery unit with a net capacity of 28.9kWh. The New MINI Electric shares a peak torque of 270Nm with its predecessor, and emits zero carbon emissions locally while consuming 17.6 – 15.2kWh per 100km of travel. The electrified MINI offers a maximum speed of 150km/h and a driving range of up to 232km (WLTP). The New MINI Electric can also make the century sprint in 7.3 seconds.

MINI Electric

The New MINI Electric continues to offer a range of charging capabilities, whether at home or at public charging facilities. When recharging at a DC charging station, the New MINI Electric only requires approximately 36 minutes to go from zero to 80% charge.

Charging

The MINI Wallbox Plus offers an 80% charge in just two and half hours, similar to recharging at a public AC charging station. The charging progress of the New MINI Electric can be viewed on the inside of the charging flap, at the Digital Instrument Cluster or via the MINI App.

Advanced connectivity features, audio and navigation features are also now available to the New MINI Electric with the Digital Instrument Cluster. It is capable of displaying key information on the charging status of the vehicle such as remaining time, percentage of charge, available range and also temperature outside the vehicle, along with the current MINI Driving Mode.

The vehicle is also equipped with the MINI Head Up Display, and the impressive 12-Speaker 360-watt Harman Kardon Sound System. All the new MINI models arrive with the MINI 4 Years Unlimited Mileage Warranty with Free Scheduled Service.
