Hino Motors Sales (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (HMSM) recently handed over 24 units of the new Hino 300 Series to Kim Teck Cheong Shipping Sdn Bhd (KTC Shipping).

The 24 units are only part of the first batch, out of the 200 trucks which KTC Shipping purchased from HMSM.

The 6-wheeler Hino 300 Series XZC710R light-duty truck, which is fitted with Euro-3 turbo-diesel engine, produces 156 PS and 429 Nm of torque, making it the model with the highest level of output in its segment.

According to HMSM, the new Hino 300 Series, which was launched in October 2020, is not only receiving high demand from customers in Peninsula Malaysia, but also from those in East Malaysia.

It is worth mentioning here that the new model comes installed with a smart telematics system called HINO Connect, which helps customers to manage their fleet and the daily operations efficiently.

Besides HINO Connect, users can also access truck information through the myHINO mobile application which is linked to the aforementioned telematics system.

KTC Shipping is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kim Teck Cheong Consolidated Berhad (KTC), the sole operator of Gardenia Bakeries (East Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, and specialized in supplying and distributing Consumer Package Goods (CPG) in East Malaysia.

KTC also mentioned that it has set its sights on penetrating the Indonesian market with the Gardenia brand. Due to business expansion, the company has decided to get its own fleet to support the increasing transport and shipping into its subsidiary company, KTC Shipping.

Putting the trust and confidence in HINO product, KTC Executive Director, Datuk Dexter Lau said, “Hino brand has come to our transportation line as we believe that Hino has set its standard on supporting customer needs.

As proven, Hino has shown the customer-centric approach and fully understand our business needs. Besides providing the best-fit product to our industry, Hino is also giving top priority on its total support after-sales service.”

“The excellence of logistics and distribution is our main priority as we are running a core business that focuses on providing market access, and this field requires the punctuality and smooth running of delivery. To achieve the level of excellence, I would say, transportation line is our backbone, and we are very sure that Hino truck will be able to deliver to our expectation,” he added.

Besides its main function of protecting the truck and driver, HINO Connect is aimed to provide the best support to customer in valuing their business profit.

This year marked a new milestone for KTC as they entered into a fruitful partnership with HMSM to bring the business to greater heights.
