Hino Motors Sales (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (HMSM) has given its customers in East Malaysia a chance to sample the complete line-up of its LCVs (light commercial vehicles) with the second running of the Discover Hino Experience at the Likas Sports Complex in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

This  follows the inaugural event, held in June at Stadium Bukit Jalil in Kuala Lumpur.

Hino has been a big winner at the recent New Straits Times-Shell Rimula Truck of The Year awards, taking two of the four main categories: the light duty vehicle (up to five tonnes) category was won by the 300 Series WU710R, while the medium duty vehicle (10 to 18 tonnes) category was won by the 500 Series GH1J.

Last year, Hino sold a total of 6,433 units in the four-tonne and above segment of commercial vehicles.

Meanwhile, Hino also held an appreciation night for its customers, staff and dealers at Tanjung Aru, where a selection of its trucks was on display after being used for a test drive event the day before.

Hino will also be donating RM10,000 to the Adik Kesayangan orphanage to be used to assist in the education of the orphans.

2013 marks 36 years of Hino Motors’ operations in Malaysia.  Nobuyuki Tanaka, Managing Director of HMSM, said, “Hino customer support activities aim to contribute to the improvement of transportation service quality which brings ‘Customers’ Win’.”

“Corresponding to surging demand for  Hino products, Hino is now constructing a plant in Sendayan, Negeri Sembilan.  Its operation will start from March next year,” he added.

To date, there is a total of 73 HINO dealers with sales outlets nationwide, 39 of which are 3S (sales, service and spares) outlets, which Hino says has been planned to meet growing market demands for their products and to “provide all Hino customers with excellent customer service”.
