Federal Highway tolls to go cashless

Ipoh-Utara-Toll-Plaza-3

In a statement released by PLUS Malaysia Berhad last week, all toll transactions at both toll plazas will be conducted electronically via PLUSMiles card, Touch ‘n Go card or SmartTAG.

Both toll plazas are the first in Klang Valley and the fifth location to undergo full electronic mode for highway toll transactions after Kempas, Perling, Lima Kedai and Tanjung Kupang toll plazas in Johor.

On the latest move to introduce full electronic payment on Federal Highway route 2, Plus managing director Datuk Noorizah Abd Hamid said: “This is part of our efforts to promote electronic toll collection system which is easier and more comfortable.”

The statement also stated that PLUS would be offering a 30 percent toll rebate for Class 1 users paying toll electronically at off peak hours between 10:00 am – 4:00 pm dan 10:00 pm – 6:00 am at both toll plazas from Sept 1 until Dec 31.

To encourage and facilitate the transition period, Plus will open up drive through reload and purchase counters at Batu Tiga and Sg Rasau toll plazas beginning July 19.
