Jaguar Unveils F-Type Reims Edition

Jaguar F-Type Reims Edition

Jaguar has released the F-Type Reims Edition exclusively for the UK market. Finished in a striking French Racing Blue, just 150 units will be available, produced in either P300 or P450 RWD Coupé configurations.

The Jaguar F-Type P300 is the entry-level model having a 2.0 L turbocharged inline-4 engine rated at 300 PS. It accelerates from naught to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h.

The F-Type P450 on the other hand, comes with the same 5.0 L supercharged V8 as the F-Type R, but detuned to 450 PS. It does the century sprint in 4.6 seconds and has a top speed of 284 km/h.

What’s special?

The bespoke exterior shade is reserved only for the F-TYPE Reims Edition, which becomes the second Jaguar in the series, following the XE Reims Edition late in 2019.

Other exterior enhancements include the standard fitment of the Exterior Black Pack, with gloss black side vents, Jaguar script and Leaper, and grille surround. A set of 20-inch five split-spoke gloss black alloy wheels are the perfect accompanying detail.

Interior

Inside, Reims Edition customers are treated to a timeless Ebony/Ebony interior combination, finished with the Interior Black Pack – gloss black door switches, door handles, instrument cluster finisher and more – and some carefully selected options.

Among them buyers will find the Fixed Panoramic Roof, heated seats and the Climate Pack, to include two-zone climate control, heated steering wheel and a heated windscreen.

The Reims Edition moniker is inspired by Jaguar’s sporting heritage, specifically the D-type’s maiden victory at the 12 Hours of Reims in 1954 which marked the start of a truly golden era in Jaguar competition history, and went on to influence all future Jaguar sports cars, from E-type to F-Type.

The E-type itself celebrates its 60th anniversary this year and is commemorated by another very special F-Type produced by Jaguar’s Special Vehicles’ Bespoke team.

Jaguar F-Type Heritage 60

The limited-edition F-Type ‘Heritage 60 Edition’ is finished in Sherwood Green – another nostalgic colour choice – and comes with 1960’s inspired details, a bespoke interior and commemorative badging befitting the iconic E-type’s diamond anniversary.

Rawdon Glover, Jaguar Land Rover UK MD, said, “With the F-Type Reims Edition we’re able to take the most advanced sports car we’ve ever produced, imbue it with a little bit of Jaguar racing heritage and deliver our customers even more value and exclusivity. For just 150 UK customers, and in the enormously important year for Jaguar’s sports car history, the F-TYPE is more enticing than ever.”

Jaguar Vision GT SV Does 0 to 100 in 1.65 Seconds

Jaguar GTSV

Jaguar has just unveiled the Vision Gran Turismo SV; an all-electric virtual endurance race car that was designed and engineered for Gran Turismo driving simulator.

The Jaguar Vision Gran Turismo SV, which was developed from the existing Vision Gran Turismo Coupe, was made specifically for high-speed stability over a long period of time under extreme conditions.

In an effort to conduct a real-world design study, Jaguar has built a full-scale model of the Vision Gran Turismo SV, which is arguably the most radical interpretation of an all-electric Jaguar race car yet.

Jaguar VGTSV

Powered by four electric motors developed by Jaguar Racing, the Vision Gran Turismo SV makes a massive 1,903 PS and 3,360 Nm of torque, and sprints from naught to 100 km/h in a mindblowing 1.65 seconds while clocking a top speed of 410 km/h. Each motor has its own single-speed transmission.

Power comes from a state-of-the-art lithium-ion battery pack which is housed low down in the GT SV’s light, stiff body structure, delivering a low centre of gravity, a low roll centre and near-perfect weight distribution.

Jaguar VGTSV interior

According to Jaguar, the Vision Gran Turismo SV was fully engineered in the virtual world, and its aerodynamics was optimised, tested, and proven using state-of-the-art simulation tools.

As far as the design goes, the Jaguar Vision Gran Turismo SV takes inspiration from iconic racing Jaguars of the past like the C-type, D-type, XJR-9, and of course, the Jaguar XJR-14.

jaguar vgtsv

The Vision GT Coupé’s silhouette is still clearly recognisable in the GT SV, including the curvature of the C-type and D-type-inspired fenders, and – even with the additional motor driving the front axle – the wheelbase remains unchanged at 2,721mm.

Measuring 5,540mm from nose to tail, the GT SV is 861mm longer overall – a change driven entirely by aerodynamics. To deliver the increased downforce needed for greater traction for faster cornering and increased high speed stability on long straights, the GT SV has a new front splitter and a new deployable rear wing.

jaguar VGTSV

In addition to the larger, more effective splitter – which produces downforce over the front axle – apertures in the front valance channel air across the face of the front wheels to reduce turbulence and help air to flow cleanly towards the rear of the car. Air passing through the wheel wells is also smoothed towards the rear via exit vents in the fenders.

The completely enclosed, sculpted underbody – which includes a keel element behind the front axle to aid high-speed stability – accelerates airflow, reducing its pressure and therefore helping to reduce lift, before it exits at the rear via a large venturi.

Jaguar vgtsv

That being said, the Jaguar Vision Gran Turismo SV will be coming to the Gran Turismo game in 2021. So, if you don’t have a PlayStation, it’s about time you got your hands on one just to give this machine a try.

Jaguar Unveils the New F-Pace SVR

Jag F-Pace SVR

Jaguar today unveiled the F-Pace SVR, the pinnacle of the brand’s performance SUV range which is capable of doing things that will put even a few supercars to shame.

Powered by a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine, the new Jaguar F-Pace SVR now makes 550PS and features a revised torque curve that enables the SUV to produce 700 Nm and hit a top speed of 286 km/h. Despite the bump in power, Jaguar claims that fuel consumption has improved.

2020 Jaguar F-Pace SVR

In case you’re wondering how quick the F-Pace SVR is, it can sprint from naught to 100km/h in exactly 4.0 seconds, which is three-tenth of a second quicker than before.

Other technical highlights include a new steering rack with SV calibration and retuned dampers that translate to better handling and a more engaging driving experience.

jaguar F-Pace SVR rear

The brakes have also been tweaked with an improved cooling system, a new Integrated Power Booster, as well as retuned pedals.

Jaguar’s All-Wheel Drive with Intelligent Driveline Dynamics is also fitted as standard. The technology has a rear-wheel drive bias for enhanced driver engagement and performance, with predictive and reactive software that can distribute torque to the front and rear axles independently, and almost instantly, to provide greater control and stability in low traction conditions.

jaguar F-Pace SVR features

The retuned rear Electronic Active Differential delivers enhanced performance and greater confidence when required.

Further complementing the whole package is the Adaptive Dynamics suspension technology which ensures a precise, dynamic set-up coupled with a supple ride. In order to achieve this, the technology constantly analyses acceleration, steering, throttle and brake pedal inputs.

Jaguar F-Pace SVR

Height sensors at each corner of the vehicle measure the vertical body movement, roll and pitch 100 times a second, while steering inputs are measured 500 times a second. Adaptive Dynamics uses these inputs to continually adjust the damper stiffness to maximise comfort and control.

And then we have the Configurable Dynamics that provides enhanced driver appeal by enabling the driver to set up the vehicle to suit their personal preferences, with a choice of Comfort or Dynamic settings applied to the throttle mapping, gear shift points, steering effort and suspension.

A stopwatch, G-Meter and pedal graph also help the driver to monitor performance in Dynamic mode while Adaptive Dynamics continuously adjusts the dampers for enhanced comfort and refinement depending on road and driving conditions.

The new F-Pace’s chassis now supports the introduction of the latest JaguarDrive Control and new Auto Vehicle Hold function. JaguarDrive Control features Comfort, Eco, Rain-Ice-Snow and Dynamic modes, which can be chosen manually by the driver based on the road conditions.

Jaguar F-Pace SVR interior

The settings, selected through a new rotary dial next to the all-new Drive Selector, optimise the F-Pace SVR’s steering, transmission, throttle and (when specified) Adaptive Dynamics settings accordingly.

Auto Vehicle Hold provides added convenience and smoother operation than conventional Automatic Hill Hold. The new technology holds the brakes for an unlimited period of time when stationary on a gradient, only releasing the brakes when the driver depresses the accelerator to drive away.

jaguar F-Pace SVR seats

On the exterior, the Jaguar F-Pace SVR features a tweaked front end which offers reduced lift and also less drag. Plus, it also makes the F-Pace SVR look much fiercer than the regular F-Pace.

Inside, the cabin features a generous dose of performance-oriented components that offer a luxurious, yet sporty feel for the driver and occupants.

Jaguar F-Pace SVR gear

Taking care of infotainment is Jaguar’s latest Pivi Pro dual-sim infotainment system which is accessed through an all-new 11.4-inch HD curved glass touchscreen. The system also cmes with Software-Over-The-Air capability which ensures that the latest vehicle systems and infotainment are installed seamlessly and remotely.

Jaguar F-PACE SVR Comes With a 5-liter Supercharged V8

Engineered by Special Vehicle Operations (SVO), with a 44% uplift in power, the F-PACE SVR’s 5.0-litre V8 supercharged petrol engine produces 550PS and 680Nm, enabling it to reach 0-100km/h in 4.3 seconds with a top speed of 283km/h.

Aerodynamic enhancements include larger air intakes at the front and side fender vents that lower pressure in the wheel arches, reduce lift and provide additional cooling while also optimising high-speed stability. In addition, unique wheel arch extensions and lower body mouldings provide a low-slung muscularity that sets the SVR apart.

An exclusive SVR bonnet features vents to help extract hot air from the engine bay and provide visual evidence of the SVR’s dynamic intent. At the rear, a unique spoiler is joined by a new bumper housing the quad tailpipes of the Active Exhaust system. The bumper incorporates side strakes that aid aerodynamic performance by smoothing airflow away from the rear of the vehicle.

The uprated chassis has progressive front and rear springs that are 30 and 10 percent stiffer respectively and incorporate an anti-roll bar specification that contributes to a 5% reduction in body roll. New, lightweight forged 21- and optional 22-inch alloy wheels are wider at the rear by 25mm compared to the front and contribute to the SVR’s enhanced handling. The 22-inch wheels are 2.4kg lighter on the front and 1.7kg lighter on the rear and are designed to deliver greater airflow to the uprated larger 395mm front and 396mm rear brake discs. The brake discs feature an advanced two-piece construction on the front and rear to reduce weight, further contributing to the SVR’s agile handling.

Finally, the SVR branded steering wheel features tactile aluminium paddle shifters.

For all its performance, the SVR retains the practicality and versatility inherent to the PACE family, with its 650-litre loadspace (with rear seats up) unaffected by its enhanced performance. Jaguar’s SUV keeps passengers connected and entertained on the move with 4G WiFi for up to eight devices and is also equipped with the advanced Touch Pro infotainment system with 10-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch HD instrument cluster.

Four interior colour themes help to highlight the vehicle’s high-performance personality; Red with Jet, Light Oyster with Jet, Siena Tan with Jet and Jet with Light Oyster stitching.

Drawing on Jaguar Land Rover’s extensive all-terrain expertise, the F-PACE SVR features a host of advanced technologies to ensure superb all-surface performance. All-Wheel Drive with Intelligent Driveline Dynamics, All Surface Progress Control and Adaptive Surface Response ensure the SUV can handle conditions in all weathers.

Advanced active safety features include a pedestrian airbag, which deploys from beneath the trailing edge of the bonnet to enhance pedestrian protection in the event of a collision.

The E-Pace is the first Jaguar to feature the company’s next-generation Thin-Film Transistor (TFT) Head-Up Display technology. The advanced display can project up to 66 per cent more information onto the windscreen using large, full-colour graphics with enhanced clarity. Essential information including vehicle speed and navigation directions are in full view at all times, with alerts and updates for the infotainment, safety and convenience features all projected directly into the driver’s eyeline – reducing the need to look away from the road.

Every Jaguar E-Pace features the latest generation of Jaguar’s Touch Pro infotainment system. Natural voice control technology, a 10-inch touchscreen interface and a customisable home screen make interactions with the system quick, simple and highly intuitive.

An optional 12.3-inch full colour digital TFT instrument panel and choice of two premium audio systems developed with Meridian ensure E-Pace offers the technology and connectivity that customers crave.

The Jaguar E-Pace is also available with an innovative wearable Activity Key. The waterproof and shockproof wristband has an integrated RFDI transponder, allowing the driver to lock the main key inside the vehicle when enjoying activities such as running, swimming or cycling.

Whenever the Activity Key is activated, by holding the wristband up to the upper edge of the number plate surround on the tailgate, any conventional key fobs left inside the vehicle are disabled.

The strong chassis also allows owners to tow up to 1,800kg (braked), ideal for customers who use their E-Pace for both business and pleasure.

FIRST EDITION: FULLY EQUIPPED AND PERFORMANCE DRIVEN

The Jaguar E-Pace First Edition is available for the first full year of sales, powered exclusively by Jaguar’s 180PS Ingenium diesel or 249PS Ingenium petrol engines paired with the nine-speed ZF automatic transmission. First Edition models are carefully specified to showcase the E-Pace’s unique design, performance and practicality – based on the R-Dynamic SE specification pack.

Three colour options are available – Caldera Red, which is unique to the First Edition for the first 12 months, Yulong White and Santorini Black. Gloss Black detailing and distinctive 20-inch Satin Grey diamond-turned, split-spoke alloy wheels complete the exterior look.

A special soft grain Windsor leather interior in Ebony with red contrast stitching and an Ebony suedecloth headlining give the cabin a distinctive appearance. Configurable ambient mood lighting and the natural light from the panoramic roof perfectly complement the spacious interior. Jaguar’s next-generation TFT Head-Up Display, additional charging points and loadspace rails ensure the First Edition has the perfect blend of personality, technology and real-world practicality.

Additional highlights include Configurable Dynamics, a gesture-controlled tailgate and Jaguar Activity Key, along with unique First Edition carpet mats and treadplates.

R-DYNAMIC PACK

Specifying the R-Dynamic model enhances the Jaguar’s sporty streak, providing body-hugging sports seats with contrast stitching and a Jet Morzine headlining. Brushed stainless steel treadplates and pedals combine to create a sports-focused interior while soft-grained leather on the R-Dynamic-branded steering wheel and the addition of gearshift paddles provide more focussed benefits.

On the outside, the R-Dynamic features styling details designed to enhance the E-Pace’s stealth, power and refinement. Front fog lights with a Gloss Black finish are complemented by a similar finish on the grille, rear valance and tailpipe finishers. Body-coloured wheel-arch surrounds and satin chrome highlights on the side vents and grille surrounds also distinguish R-Dynamic derivatives.

RANGE SUMMARY

The Jaguar E-Pace and E-Pace R-Dynamic are available with S, SE and HSE specification packs and a choice of five powertrains, with three diesel and two petrol engines. The 2.0-litre four-cylinder Ingenium diesel powerplant is available in 150PS, 180PS and 240PS outputs, while the pair of 2.0-litre four-cylinder Ingenium petrol turbo units deliver 249PS or 300PS.

High levels of standard equipment are a core component of the E-Pace range. Convenience features such as Touch Pro infotainment, LED headlights and a rear view camera system are joined by advanced driver assistance systems including Driver Condition Monitor and Emergency Braking.

Sime Darby Motors City

Sime Darby Motors clocked another milestone with the official launch of its automotive facility, Sime Darby Motors City in Ara Damansara earlier this week.

Touted as the largest automotive complex in Southeast Asia, Sime Darby Motors City spans across 8.6 acres with an overall built-up area of 1.3 million square feet over eight levels.

Six brands under one roof

The complex houses six flagship centres featuring ten flagship brands represented by Sime Darby Motors in Malaysia, namely BMW, Ford, Hyundai, Jaguar, Land Rover, MINI, Motorrad, Porsche and Volvo. It also has an indoor facility capable of housing close to 100 vehicles under Sime Darby Motors’ pre-owned car business Sime Darby Auto Selection.

Integrated with the latest technologies to enrich the overall customer experience at every touch point, the facility boasts almost 200 service bays, approximately 700 customer parking and electric vehicle (EV) charging bays and the capacity to display more than 180 vehicles.

Supporting the facility are approximately 60 Auto Bavaria technicians for BMW, MINI and Motorrad and over 110 certified technicians. This includes technicians who hold the highest level of certification by the principal brands, including the Zertifizierter Porsche Techniker Gold Certification which is streamlined for Porsche technicians worldwide. Brands like Ford, Hyundai, Jaguar and Land Rover also have certifications with the highest being trained as Master Technicians.

Fully digital infrastructure

At the heart of the facility’s digital infrastructure is its Vehicle Tracking Management system which utilises a camera-based parking guide and customisable signages to ensure a higher level of guidance, security and convenience for the customer.

It also allows for quicker collection of vehicles upon completion of service. Internally, the facility’s digitalised infrastructure communicates the status of each vehicle in real-time, ensuring greater efficiencies are achieved.

IoT-powered Automated Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras have also been installed, as part of a contactless self-check-in system, which enables customers’ appointment data to be accessed, upon their arrival.

Concurrently, a service advisor will be alerted and automatically assigned to the customer, allowing for a seamless experience. The deployment of these technologies will be rolled out progressively throughout Sime Darby Motors City.

Once in the showroom, customers can opt for a contactless self-check-in which utilises a QR code system. This will allow customers to be placed immediately in the queue without having to wait to be attended to, allowing for a fuss-free service experience. The introduction of this check-in system will be introduced across all brands at Sime Darby Motors City.

To support these enhancements to the after-sales experience, Sime Darby Motors has also digitalised the business for its sales representatives. This includes the introduction of a mobile application, which has enabled sales representatives to be connected anytime and anywhere with real-time data to better serve customers. With the mobile application, they can now populate and print application forms wirelessly, minimising steps in the administrative process and reducing customers’ waiting time.

Collaborations

Sime Darby Motors City also welcomes partners from our mobility collaborations; SOCAR, Malaysia’s leading car-sharing network and myTukar, Malaysia’s fastest growing online used car trading platform. The complex will have designated parking bays for SOCAR vehicles – ideal for customers dropping off their vehicles for service, and will be a showcase centre for myTukar trade-in vehicles, in collaboration with Sime Darby Auto Selection.

The facility is equipped with specialised EV-certified technicians and designated areas for EV charging, storage and repairs as well, which are currently available at Auto Bavaria, Auto Hyundai, Auto Performance and Swedish Auto.

And then we have Sime Darby Auto Performance which houses a high speed EV charging station that is capable of delivering a maximum of 175 kW, able to provide a near-full charge within 36 minutes, which is at least eight times faster than the fastest Alternating Current (AC) charger available at 22 kW.

The complex is a Green Building Index (GBI) certified facility built with sustainability in mind and incorporates technologies to cultivate a paperless organisational culture.

Grand Launch Weekend

To commemorate the launch, Sime Darby Motors City will be organising a “Grand Launch Weekend” with attractive deals across the six flagship stores between 16 and 18 April 2021. Interested customers are advised to make an appointment, in adherence with the government’s COVID-19 standard operating procedures on crowd control and physical distancing.
